These Maytag commercial washers really clean well. It seems they also cut down the motor noise with this new model. I know there is a lot of people who love speed queen but I just think these machines clean the clothes better. Speed queen may have better build quality but they don’t pull the clothes down like this one. Maybe if they started using a dual action agitator and different wash actions like this model I’d consider buying one. At this point this washer seems to clean better than any new top load I’ve seen so far.

Bulky/Towels with Deep Water, Warm Wash Temperature, Presoak, & Extra Rinse (To make things really interesting.) 3.) Overloaded Test on any Cycle with Deep Water, Warm Wash Temperature, (Presoak), & Extra Rinse 4.) Dirty Jeans on Powerwash with Deep Water, Warm Wash Temperature, Presoak, & Extra Rinse (Add Soap in & Fabric Softener as well, which goes in the Fabric Softener Dispenser that’s on the Dual-Action Agitator.) (As the dirty Jeans are gonna need some good cleaning with Presoak to soak the Jeans in for it to be able to get the dirt off easier, plus an Extra Rinse to get them really clean & hopefully be stainless.) 5.) Red Sweatshirt on Delicates with any Water Level, Warm Wash Temperature, Presoak, & Extra Rinse (Since Delicates is a pretty short Cycle & Presoak & Extra Rinse would extend it.) 6.) Phone Book Test on Drain & Spin 7.) Rinse & Spin with any Water Level & Extra Rinse (To see what it does at the startup of the Cycle.)

I’ll be on a market for a washer in August. Coming from Europe and living in the States for 10 years I never had a washer like this, always HE. Is it true that this kind of washer will damage clothes faster? Can I wash my delicate clothes like wool sweaters (normally washed on hand wash cycle) in this washer? Can I use fabric softener in it? And, finally, will it fit king size comforter or a blanket. So far it looks like a good choice for a washer (looked at the speed queen but too many negative reviews for the new models).
@jason50146 Жыл бұрын
I don't remember old school washers causing any unusual wear and tear on clothes. My current Maytag HE washer relies on rubbing (grinding) clothes together to help clean. Not exactly gentle on clothes, as you can imagine. As I recall, that was one of the justifications for less water in HE machines. I personally don't think my clothes last longer or shorter than they used to. The manual states you can add fabric softener to the agitator dispenser.

This by a long shot. Looking into replacing my tc5, it had a few hiccups and still has thinner steel. @@rodney6064 Did u watch the videos of the machine washing for deep wash? Not sure if u are talking about the two rows way at the top of tub under rim or the rows of holes lower down. U will not get at deep wash what the picture under lid shows. I think it fills a few inches below top of rim. I can double check and update this when I do my next full load. Right now I am VERY sorry I purchased this machine! I have only had it one year this month and or 5 service calls! It has a mind of its own. I will set on deep wash and it will fill. But when it comes to rinse, will only give me a few inches of water. Had to be recalibrated first time right after I purchased it. It was good for a few months. Then started again. I would be left with clothes still full of soap even after 2 rinses. The water was no way even covering clothes! Finally the tech put in a whole new circuit board and tightened agitator as clothes getting stuck in space at bottom of the agitator. I had a pile of newly purchased clothes from Xmas all with holes and torn. The new circuit board made it worse!! Now I can't get anything but a full tub of water! I just had a very tiny load to do using hot water. Set it on med and it filled up to top using so much of my hot water. Should have hand washed. The agitator is making a strange noise and it's not agitating at all during rinse. Tech said he was contacting Maytag to see what they want to do about this. Was hoping they would send a new machine to replace this lemon. I had a service man from whirlpool come knocking on my door the other day when I was on my way out for a Drs appt. I was never given any notification of any appts date at all! No call, no txt, no email. So I am still stuck with this piece of S**t. I need to stand here and babysit this machine for every load! The only way I found I was able to get it to work properly was to set it on a rinse and spin cycle to get it to fully rinse. Problem is that when I am doing a gentle load, it spins way too fast stretching out my garments. But it used to get it to work properly again at least for the next few loads. If u can get your money back, I would. Even if it involves a restocking fee!

@@rodney6064 I just checked my machine during this small load rinse cycle I am doing that is giving me full tub of water. When set on deep wash it fills right above the top agitator. I can't tell you about the sides cause with my vision it's too hard for me to see that with the reflection of the stainless. I hope this helps.

@rosettebattista6121 Thanks for the response...... I've watched so many videos and read so many reviews, my head is spinning. Who knew it would be so hard/ difficult to find an old school, top load, agitating washer, (with good turnover) that fills with water and cleans your clothes. Not many options.....this Maytag, Speed QueenTc5, and GE that I don't know the model number off hand, but the agitation looked horrible on that one. Sucks that you are going through what you are with your relatively new machine. 90 plus percent of reviews on it were all positive. I know it doesn't help, but maybe you just got a lemon.

Please tell all the water levels in inches. My Maytag gives me five inches or seven inches in the deep water cycle. Ridiculous

This is the Maytag I should have bought. Now the question is can I exchange the one I have and pay more for this one which would be no problem or do I end up in court suing Maytag and the store I bought it from. My case would be false advertising. The machine I bought was listed as a traditional washer which it is not. It is HE. And Deep Fill is in bold letters plus it says you can have all the water you want which is totally untrue. You get water according to government rules and weight of items washed. Basically you can end up with a small puddle and there is not a damn thing you can do about it.

Are you sure there is 5 year warranty?
@wyzemann9 ай бұрын
Yes, only on this model MVWP586GW. Local independent appliance sellers and the official Maytag website sell this model.

Got this model 2 weeks ago. And I’ve noticed the agitation sound has gotten louder and sometimes it doesn’t fill to the right water level. Has anyone else experienced this?

Mine doesn't fill to the top on deep fill. I think 2024 models may have auto sensing which is a very crooked thing to do without saying anything

I ran a calibration and it seems to be fixed. Was only having this problem on mixed

Update: I unplugged it for a minute. I plugged it back in, & it's working like a champ. It just needed to reset the controls. Water levels are acceptable, but I wouldn't use Normal Eco since it limits water levels. The sound was coming from the bottom of the basket, rubbing against a raised tile that got loose. The washer got leveled again, with nothing rubbing the bottom of the basket. Thank you for your replies.

You’ve scheduled a bad timing for that, as I’m gonna be unavailable at the time of the Premiere due to my Care Worker being here. 😕 So, unfortunately, I’m gonna have to miss this Premiere without a choice. 😔

I own this washer. I do not recommend it. @MazzaJ I had many issues with it. The repair tech was at my place to attempt yo fix it 6 times in 8 months. He had to change all the electronics. Maytag falsely advertise the water level. The "Deep water" only applies to 2 of the 5 cycles.

You ever figure out deep fill.... using mine for the first time today. And it's only filling at its deepest point a couple inches below the double row of holes at the top of the drum.@MazzaJ

Deep water only fills with cold probably
@singsongcindy8865 Жыл бұрын
Deep water fills with whatever water temp you select. I called Maytag and they confirmed the hot is straight hot. NOT tempered with cold. Eugene at Lorain confirmed with temp gun that it is straight hot.

Don't feel bad You or 575 owners did due diligence. I tell my kids" if you were God you would be rich". I miss my time of cycle control and just bought a 586. You watch them add that feature. I am weeping my old maytag 29 years died 2 weeks ago.
