I figured the cone heads is supposed to be a dark reflection of the eldar. Like a weird mix of daemonette and eldar in the face and head. Especially since Slaanesh is like the eldars demonic dark god.

I'm loving the new sculpts. There's some amazing nods to the old Realm of Chaos pics. Proper 80s hair metal tropes, even down to their lil power armoured crop tops and slightly high heeled boots/hooves. I've had 2k worth of models waiting to be painted, but I wanted to see how they made the new sculpts. Now I know they're glorious, the painting of perversion can begin!

I imagine the noise and vibration coming from the noise marines weapons shatters glass, makes bolts vibrate out of armor, color coming off walls, makes your sight a vibrating blur and your ears just pop with blood instantly. Like a shockwave from a blast but with the sound of twisting metal and tinnitus.

Anything and everything without a helmet will have their bare heads removed and replaced with something helmeted. I do wish each of the chaos armies had the same amount of different units, like the Death Guard. Something related to each God equivalent to the plague burstcrawler, blight-hauler, the excessive character/HQ units, their apothecary, chaplain, techmarine equivalent (if applicable), a dreadnaught, etc. It'd be so much to collect across all of chaos.

as a fellow chaos enthusiast I love these models. already brainstorming paint schemes, basing, and little additions for my EC army. if there was a range to draw me away from my beloved World Eaters, this is the one. also, with the elongated heads. I think it's the smoothness that's not quite working. but with a bit of ridges and extra piercings I think they could be more reminiscent of a Vampire the Masquerade Tzimisce. which is more horrifying and even a bit more thematically accurate with the whole Flesh Crafting perfection angle.

I really love the psychology behind their fall from grace. Essentially, perfectionism giving way to hedonism when the weight of trying to live up to personal and social expectations becomes overwhelming. Obviously it plays out in more of a grimdark way in the lore, but i think the character of Fulgrim and the EC are really an extreme representation of that message and theme. Cone heads aside, I’m here for it and I hope that they get richer, more nuanced lore in upcoming books. They’d benefit from a night lords treatment instead of just buckshot blasting “perfection”, “excess”, and “pleasure” onto the page.

I think the dislike of Fulgrim model is silly. The 30k model is supposed to be 10,000-11,000 years ago. He has had 10,000 years to mutate more, to be distorted by the warp. Of course he wouldn't look the same.

GW can go full tilt boogie with that three of the four chaos gods are known for. Rot and decayed filth for Nurgle. Blood and gore for Khorne. Endless warp-influenced change for Tzeentch. Can't really get away with fully showing what Slannesh does. I love the Lucius model. The others are underwhelming. I was hoping for cenobite-level depravity, but they went as far as they could.

Cloven hooves is common among Chaos forces. Nurgle forces have hooves, Undivided, Khorne, just not Tzeentch as much.

With the fall of the Aeldari Empire being caused by and causing Slaanesh’s formation. I feel like those units tie back into his creation while diversifying the models without helmets, gives more room to kitbash body horror into as well!

I'm glad I'm not alone in thinking of the Coneheads. 😂 I do understand that they're akin to Daemonette heads with the elongation, but that's going to be a marmite feature of love it or hate it. I enjoyed the portions of the video where you're channelling your inner Emperor's Child, that was both funny and on point. Says a lot about... various potential viewers / Internet comments sections that you needed to overlay on the screen that you were embracing the ethos, but nicely done all the same. There's definitely some vast improvements on many of the models, Lucius now looks great - I'm one of those that's okay with his resurrectionist lore, makes him more of a douche so I personally give it a pass. I think I like both 30K and 40K Fulgrims, they're representing different points in his story and the varying levels of unhinged come across well. Most of the other EC models, great. Not likely to get them myself, maybe a Kill Team at most, but pleasing that they exist to flesh out more of the universe.

I discovered 40k back in June 2024, been enjoying it ever since. However, that enjoyment was purely vicariously by watching an insane amount of 40k content on KZbin, it was a full blown dive into the deep end headfirst in terms of lore and battle reports. The actual hobby side has been far more theoretical rather than practical. Couldn’t decide on which army I liked best, some of my favorites in the lore I didn’t like as much in terms of actually collecting for whatever reason (Custodes has the forge world problem, Imperial Guard is very expensive and more difficult to paint due to hordes of infantry, etc). I decided to wait until Emperor’s Children were revealed/released and they would be my first official army. The hype and anticipation over the past few months during fall/winter led me to dig deeper into their lore and I learned to love the tragedy of the 3rd legion and their primarch (plus noise marines are just neat). Then finally on Christmas Day we saw Fulgrim and LVO showed us the rest of the range and I’m so excited to finally get underway with the hobby aspect. It’s still intimidating, how much time and money do I actually have to spare? How tough of a learning curve will building the models and painting them be? Knowing the rules in theory is one thing but how rough will actually playing my first games be? I’ve fallen in love with 40k but still kept it at somewhat of a distance, now that my planned army had officially been revealed the reality of it has set in, the nerves and second guessing is in full force. Thankfully my brother in law still seems very interested to start his own 40k journey so having someone to undergo this process with will certainly help.

I miss some of the "edge" for lack of better word that chaos used to have. Take the old Bile model that had a screaming flayed face his coat, that has now been removed. Also we know Chaos warriors like to take trophies so why does the lord not have a decapitated head dangling of his belt. its those kind of small touches i miss.

I’ve been playing Slaanesh everything since the original RoC books. About two years ago I had a housefire and lost over 3k points of my Emperors Children (and a buddy’s Space Puppies). I love Lucius, so hyper excited about the new mini. But have been chatting about it in a hobby discord and more recently with Wargamergirl; there's a lot of black in that new colour scheme, especially the chest and pauldrons. On his shin and backpack, the is flesh stretched across, rather than it being the armour itself. Has made me curious if there's a subtle lore change coming that his armour is just "armour" now and not "made of people" lol. I doubt they'll change it, but we shall see.

I have a similar concern. My Emperor's Children army includes 30 Possessed, 30 Raptors/Warp Talons and 25 Havocs. I saw now indications these will be usable in the new army selections.

What draws me to the Emperors children is sheer loyalty to what they used to be. Pre heresy Fulgrim is my absolute favourite primarch, and what he inspired in his legion was perfect. However I hate what GW did to him. What they did to his legion. Not only did they abuse them, but we were shown what they COULD have been had they stayed loyal, through Tarvitz and Rylanor. It was an evil move from GW that makes you despise the new Emperors children. And that's the whole point. They're the bad guys. And sad as their story may be, that's what they will always be viewed as. I'm drawn to them because they're the villains we didn't want, but the ones we needed. 40k is in a static state where the lore doesn't move forward. But now with the return of another primarch, Abbadon can be replaced by a real war master

I play craftworld eldar in 40k and always liked slaanesh as this sort of dark mirror and polar oposite. I play slaanesh in aos and am definitely interested in these guys for same reason. As to what that reason is... well I like the disciplineof craftworlders and its something that speaks to me, and these guys are polar oposite of that they are that mirror and reminder of what I never want to become for I recognize that there are two sides to the coin called human psyche if it makes sense.

My thought's on the elongated heads is to make them a little more Aeldari, since they were the ones who brought Slaanesh into being. That said, it may have been better to have their heads more inline with Daemonettes or Seekers, and not the cone head appearance.

I may be in a small camp here but I definitely think their Lord model is better than Lucius in terms of design. What makes it more amazing is this is the rare occasion GW goes beyond and decides to add numerous options to the kit. You dont see that with the CSM factions really and I think thats GW evolving and planning ahead for the future of what WH may look like in the next decade or so. We need more variety, we need ways to make our mini's our own and this is a good example of that. They need to consider kitbashers and hobbyest more often who love to make unique characters and units

The Lord Exultant with oversaturated colors in the thumbnail goes hard, I think he looks better than the official version. After all the Emperor's Children are meant to be an "assault on the senses" but their color scheme look a tad muted in my opinion.

Thus far none of the monogod legions released after DG have even come close to the level of effort DG got put into their range and codex. 40k fulgrim is uglier than 30k fulgrim because of the funny purple dreadnought that detonated a virus bomb in his face.
