sounds like a panel i could get stuck into with all that flexibility, albeit easy to cause incompliance with regs as you said if you end up missing something. if i was doing this as a job i would write myself up a template to get the base system set up correctly then expand upon that to make it work for the project. it was interesting to hear that the tyco systems use the frequency shift keying to communicate, i have been doing alot of work with Apollo equipment. the protocol for that is simple and robust no complicated filters to mess with i have built a network driver circuit to interface with a dev board (Arduino) and i have written a program that drives the devices and collects their data and controls sounders and outputs on the "loop" . thanks for sharing :)

When I was up in your neck of the woods in February, the only MX1 I saw was indeed a Wormald install. Vigilant gear appears to be more popular in the big cities like Auckland and Wellington. Down here in Welly, as well as Wormald, MX1's have been installed fairly recently by the likes of Alliance Fire & Security, Nationwide Fire Protection and also ENGIE. I also saw quite a few Vigilant addressable systems up in Auckland, but I think those were MX4428s rather than MX1s, mostly installed by either AskMetroFire or Triangle Fire Protection. On another note, that MX1 you've got must be a few years old, as it has the older version of the display.....the newer version has a few more colours and moves the buttons around a bit.

MX the world. JCI and Wormald are a separate entity and have been for some time now. MX1 is an amazing panel changing device profiles and custom logic makes unique and complicated jobs a breeze pertronics and ampac and notifier are good panels but when it comes to installing to more the 4512 for industry or manufacturing MX is the way to go. If it was a basic type 4 or type 2 I would 100% say use an f100/f200. You need to get yourself a 60w t-gen 2 for that panel as you can make custom evac tone and macros.

There are also detector bases with an integrated sounder and LED beacon compatible with these MX1 fire panels. Link to Zettler's webpage: www.zettlerfire.com/Products/Fire/ZettlerAddressableSoundersBeacons.asp

Vigilant have recently introduced KAC Call-Points (same as those Notifier use) as the new standard option. You can still get the old glass units, but KAC is now their main Call-Point.

And they are being installed on new systems right now....Alliance just did an MX1 upgrade with the new KAC's at a High-School in Porirua, whilst Wormald are using them on a Sigma 5 in a new building in Paraparaumu.

Yeah there’s something weird going on with my phone 🤣 it only turns the audio up after a few seconds and I didn’t feel like editing the video.
