What is the purpose of the hundreds of wooden posts in the ground? Is it a way to thin the population of racers? A kind of evolution by attrition? Someone is going to be hurt or killed when they strike one. Bodies=soft Wood=hard.

hahaha They're sprinkler heads. And seeing as MX207 has been around for quite a long time, they probably have it figured out... I hope.

Wes Williams Glen Helen has been around for awhile, too. So has Washougal. Both had metal fence posts near the track. I know one racer who impaled himself at Washougal:: His chest protector absorbed most of the energy and the post just touched his skin. He lived, The posts are gone. Glen Helen removed the metal posts and other trash/accident creators about 10 years ago....Hollister Ca track has oak trees around the track. Today there are hay bales about the oaks. Ever seen a guy hit an oak tree with his shoulder, going 30mph? Bike keeps going. Shoulder stops. 50fps to 0fps in less than a second. I know these are sprinklers, at 207. They need to go.
