The only thing I see a problem with is no USB C/Thunderbolt 4 connectivity. Overall this build is well thought out, planned, and executed. The overhead light strip and wireless charging are flawless, especially the phone holder... very unique. I would have probably used 3D wall panels instead of the foam for longevity and easy cleaning. I don't know how you got a white Blue Yeti mic, or the Edison bookshelf speakers in white but it's again well thought out. 10/10

This is a great work desk setup. But i think you should position your speaker symmetrical triangle straight to your ear, add more light for overhead desk atmosphere and maybe need a white colour pc. But i know your pc is quite interesting so find few spots in your desk to put some things in same colour of your pc. But again, its a Nice looking desk setup. I love it 🎉

Thanks! Triangle formation could improve the audio slightly but I think it's close enough that I'd sacrifice it for the neatness of the straight on look. I agree that the LED strip can be brighter and possibly the colour changing type as well.

A white pc would be amazing, but you should definitely keep your wood style with it as well, a combination between the wood and white would be great in my opinion. I am currently building a white version of the beamcase SW which is a case that uses makerbeam aluminium extrusions, but i was thinking of making some wood panels instead of 3d printed for it. You should have a look at the beamcases, they are very interesting! (Not as good as your custom ones though :D )

I only use the mic for voiceovers during video editing. And there are options to mute speakers during recording. Will be a different story if you are using it for gaming/ streaming. Very nifty setup. I've had a similar idea for some time now because my TV's built-in speakers are kinda boomy so I was thinking of doing a back frame with foam and lift the screen up to increase the gap to the table top. Would also want to add side panels with foam to cut glare from the window and reduce primary acoustic reflections. My main concern would be the rigidity of the setup to resist shaking the screen when typing though. How's this working out for you?
@mxcbuilds66335 ай бұрын
Thanks! Screen wobble is on par vs on its original stand placed directly on the table. If your monitor is much larger/ heavier that might be a different story. Also the table frame/legs will play a big part. If this was installed on an already wobbly table it would amplify the shame further. Lastly, I don't play many fast paced games involving violent mouse movements so I don't notice the wobbles at much. For games like shooting and sure racing simulation type where you clamp the wheel to the desk, I expect the wobble would become noticeable

Do you live in America? and if yes, do you know where i can get a big slab of wood (like 74-70 inch by 24 inc, 2-11/2 inch thick) for a really good price? I was thinking of going to home depot to get the top for my desk but im not sure, I've only got like 200 bucks to spare for the top and im not sure if itll be enough for the wood itself + the things i need to buy to make it nice (like sanding materials, the coat and whatnot)

Being that power for all the equipment on my balcony is supplied through a single extension cord, I didn't want to max out the power limit. So I decided to go back to manual instead.
