I L-O-V-E this pedal. It has become an essential part of my sound. Warm, deep, lush delay. VERY quiet too. If you're a fan of David Gilmour sounding delay then this is your pedal.

I highly recommend this delay!! Just bought it today, and the sound is just spacious and gorgeous on the longer settings! It has the most sublime decay of any analog unit three times its price. It's an incredible addition to my pedalboard, and doesn't take up much real estate. Dream-like delay for real.

Andy is rolling up the feedback to the max and by that he's making the repeats infinite, and when the pedal is set to a very short delay time the repeats are closer to each other and then this metallic kind of sound is made.

I've had one for perhaps a year now and I absolutely live on this pedal...VERY cool and lots of very useful sounds. I wil say though its worth getting a power-source because after only a couple sessions the repeats start to get weaker until the end of the battery's life when almost no repeats are left. With constant mains power you get the same tone every time...worth a few bucks!

I tried this out today when I was shopping for a new delay pedal. I ended up with the TC Electronic Flashback. I did however have tons of fun making dubstep with it. Near the beginning when he turned the regeneration up and the delay down is how you start and then just mess with it. It's fun!

my friend who i jam with has this pedal. its amazing. it has a very warm sound and you could do alot with it if you know what your doing. if your looking for a an analog delay this is perfect, you wont regret it :D

MXR used to make an analog delay a while back. it had basically the same features and controls, but in a larger box (about the size of the original stereo chorus). they discontinued it for some reason, and now they made a new one with the modulation built in to resemble tape flutter from old tape echoes like the Roland Space Echo.

We would recommend the Malekko Ekko 616mkII. It's easily our favorite analog delay at the shop and does some fantastic slapback. Thanks, PGS
@moogyboy615 жыл бұрын
That's a combination of two things: 1) excessive (infinite) regeneration, which acts like feedback and causes the delay line to overdrive, and 2) manipulating the repeat rate, which is like changing speed on a tape recorder; the repeats go up and down in pitch as well as rate, so if you start with a slow rate, decreasing the rate results in a proportional increase in pitch, and vice versa. On these delay units that pitch change can span several octaves.

Any pedals can be used on anything. Bass or guitar, or keyboard, drums, vocals. For bass you just need to make sure that the pedal retains your low end. Most pedals don't. Thats why Bassists love the EH metal muff because it retains alot of lowend.

I bought this pedal a month ago and it was one of the best investments ever for my sound.. I am a tone freak, all tube analog, PRS guitar etc.. This gives me the best tone for the amount of money and sounds better than any delay pedal i have ever heard. I tried the maxxon but this was far better.. the modulation option is great as well.. The only drawback is no option for an expression pedal to control the delay time in a live situation.. Other than that A great pedal!
@PopExpo15 жыл бұрын
I got this pedal. at first i thought the repeats were gonna be too dark. but when you play this thing in real life the repeats sound great. i notice when i plug this pedal to a power supply, turn it on and let it warm up for about 10 minutes, it actually sounds better.

A BBD (bucket brigade device) is a series of capacitors, which pass the signal like a little chinese bucket brigade used to pass water to fight fires before hoses. Sounds funny, but that's the truth.
@AidenBradley9513 жыл бұрын
@HandreyAlex That depends on how important modulation is to you. If you want the sea sick vibrato sounds to make your repeats just a tad more interesting, the memory boy is for you, and if you want more of a clean, crisp repeat where modulation that leans more towards tape is an option, go for the Carbon Copy. You have two different kinds of delay in two different boxes.

@Comocks set the delay time to a short setting, and turn the feedback down so that you only get one repeat. turn the mix up so that it's about as loud as your dry signal. the delayed note should fit exactly in between each note that you play. i believe buckethead uses digital delay though.

Analog signal processing devices process the continuous input signal which outputs the original signal with only the effects of the system. Digital signal processing requires that the input signal be sampled which results in a discrete time signal. The discrete signal is then processed and converted back to a continuous signal and outputs the original signal with both the effects of the processing system and the A/D and D/A converter, which usually results in a degradation of sound quality.

It's not possible to damage your pedals in any way by just plugging several of them in front of your amps. Abusing them will damage them tho, like using bad/wrong power supplies or batteries and such.

@PHAEDRIDER14 жыл бұрын
@TheCrystalyne it does.. "fuzzy and indistinct " is refered to as " character" like the difference between a an ibanez hesh master guitar with microtuners vs. and old well aged 335 .. the ibanez will have a cold sterile sound ( for metal for instance) and the 335 works better for more "interesting music" .. not that there's anything wrong with either.. it's a matter of preference. digital delay would suit you better if clean and shiny is what your'e looking for .. both are fun ..
@RobertB040214 жыл бұрын
From what I hear, the sound is more transparent then the Ibanez AD9 (which I own and have on my pedalboard). This doesn't seem (unlike the AD 9) to put any gain into the tone when the mix knob gets turned up, which is nice. I also like that the time goes out to 600ms (although I probably would know what to play against that amount of time). The mod button - I could live without this. Not a big fan of emulating the poorer aspects of 1950's tape echo technology. And live, it won't be heard anyway.

@Dominater111145 a standard 9 volt adapter should work, and if you ever consider building a pedal board i suggest you invest in a power block, this plugs into 1 outlet space and powers all of your pedals.

I found that the Ibanez DE7 is a great anolog delay, and its cheep. If mutemath uses it, I approve.
@bertorollocoe14 жыл бұрын
@Jakeistoocool143 Its because you are distorting a repeated signal. You always have to put your delay and time based effects after your distortion source. In this case if your are using your amps dirty channel for distortion tone, you should use your time based effects in the amps effects loop. Otherwise you will get a crappy distorted-delayed mess. Good luck.

@Overture2152 Well the first thing would make sure it's after any distortion pedals.. or in your effects loop. it would also be good to have a more subtle delay sound 1/3 mix or 10 o'clock on the mix dial. go from there. works for me anyway with delay
