I think it’s a combination of the amp as well. That amp sounds like it doesn’t have much bottom end or much in the way of mids. I kinda expect certain fender characteristics. I just don’t think that amp really agrees with that pedal. Need to demo this with something that has some punch for this kinda pedal to really come together in perfect harmony. I used to have a Fender amp that was the same way. Great for pristine clean, and I could get good gain sounds as well. Just some types of pedals just would sound thin and nasally with it though. I suspect that’s part of the issue.
@davidmykyte55313 жыл бұрын
That’s a pretty distinct characteristic of a small fender reverb tube amp, virtually zero bottom end or mid... ask me how I know 🙄

About $189 USD right now. With P90’s, it sounds identical to the “Dookie” sound in the effects loop. Stacked with other pedals, it gets a little boomy or woofy sounding. Great pedal when it’s standing alone, though.
@mattylar29255 жыл бұрын
Jared Burdick I believe Billie used Humbucker guitars in Dookie. Like his Strat.
@jburdsinfuse5 жыл бұрын
Mattylar yep. I have humbuckers, single coils, hot P90’s and Vintage P90’s. The vintage P90’s (Lollar overwounds) sounds identical at volume. Dead on. My Tele in the bridge is right there too. The hotter the pickups, the more low end comes through (might be my rig). If I’m going for the Dookie tone, P90’s and this pedal are perfect.
