As a person with 100+ year old dark walnut stained trim in their house, I can say it would have looked good as well, but I am happy you like your decision. The "orange" looks more "earthy" than it did on the swatch. It turned out great, and with the change of the wood stain idea, it makes the house look so much bigger. As an artist, I like your bold yet slightly conservative choices for paint colours. I returned from a visit south during winter, and realized how starved I was for colour. I ended up painting a feature wall in my living room tangerine! It’s similar to your orange, but more saturated. I’ve had fun adding turquoise accents and of course lots of plants. You’ve got natural colour sense. Your place is going to look great! Wishing you a Merry Christmas and we’ll see you in the new year!

I would almost call that a terracotta, as opposed to orange. That is an excellent choice for contrasting with indoor plants. Looks amazing!

What a gorgeous house! I LOVE your paint choices. The orange maple shade looks so pretty with the light woodwork. 2:34 That’s a smart choice, walnut stain on pine usually looks kinda bad, especially on the pine we get these days, which has such wide grain.

You will be so much happier with the lighter woods not showing dust and dirt. The unfinished pine needs a conditioner to even any stain applications; it doesn't always take stain evenly. You can keep the darker colored doors and refresh them. The contrast will look nice. Never hesitate to mix wood colors that coordinate and contrast nicely together. LOVE the ceiling, window and door frames in the art room, and throughout the house. This is turning into such a sweet house. You're going to love living here.
