Thank you my friend I'm trying. I absolutely love the comment section part of making KZbin videos. But it does take a lot of time replying can only imagine how it is for you now. The one thing I love though is how many friends I've made over the last 6 months. Hey a lot of friends over in the UK that I talk to over messenger. So many good people here in the comments section. Hope everything's going good for you Matt and your amazing wife and your absolutely amazing mom Tell her I said hello.

Vincent Grasso My Visually Impaired Life hey Vincent, I noticed that you replied to everyone, that’s a great habit. However, just like you said, it definitely does take a lot of time. But I know that the people appreciate the replies which is important. I’m so happy to hear that you’ve made so many great friends over the last six months and especially those over in Europe. It’s just such a cool experience. Thanks for doing everything that you are! :-)

Thank you so much for this video. I've had LHON since early 2018, and it's so hard to get people and doctors to understand the light sensitivity and pain. I've been told "LHON is painless so it must be something else." Yet, just about everyone with LHON that I've spoken with online has light sensitivity and pain. Now I can show this video to everyone so they can hopefully understand

Well I am glad I was able to help. What's funny is even before my LHON decided to infect me when I had perfectly normal vision I remember every time I go to the dentist for the doctors and they would put those lights in front of my face he was just so bright. I was even late sensitive before my vision lost started. Early symptoms I never even thought of. Not until I started to lose my vision. It's a pleasure to meet somebody else with LHON there is not a ton of us. I have only met five people in total. And I know a few more here on KZbin and now you are another added to my list. thanks for watching and listening to the video my friend Hope to hear more comments from you down the road.

Well, just make sure you keep those eyeballs in your head because according to my step dad the light sensitivity could all come back again. Lol Thank you Chris so much for watching listening to the video. Can always count on you to be at every video upload. And Jessica's I'm reading here message right now I'm going to wear your shirt to my Bible study today. I'm not joking when I say that shirt is one of my favorites now, everybody always comments on it. And it's a really well made shirt by the way. I used to print shirts in the past I used to have my own studio and whoever printed them did a good job and you picked a good t-shirt material as well. So I say thank you very much sir

Hi Vinnie, do you have such a phenomenal collection of sunglasses! I find it really interesting how I can relate to everything you describe with your vision. Even the comments with the other subscribers are all familiar. I find myself, when walking early in the morning with Gretchen, using my sunglasses when the sun pierces through the dawn trees and I can’t see a thing but bright beings of light. Then in the shade I flip the sunglasses on top of my head and in the dawn light my eyes are so comfortable because there is just enough light to see but not any direct light to pierce through my eyes and create eyestrain. Now about your dad, that really is fascinating! I have known many people with prosthetic eyes but have never known any to complain of light sensitivity. That doesn’t mean that I don’t believe it because I believe that there are so many variations of visual impairments and who knows, there may be many more like your dad that have just not connected with each other or even with their oculus you really did an outstanding job describing your visual impairment and how light sensitivity affect it. We are all so unique don’t you think? Thanks for a fantastic video once again and have a wonderful weekend

Thank you for the awesome comment Beverly. I was completely utterly baffled when my dad was telling me about his light sensitivity. he was also telling me that the dark sunglasses were too much so that I took him to the store and I made him buy a pair of Amber lens glasses and he was much happier that I stole his aviators fair and square. Lol My eyes are always changing so much overtime. he never know my light sensitivity might be almost gone a week from now within 2 weeks from now could be the worst that's ever been. So yes we are all unique when it comes to vision loss. The brain is a crazy thing. Hope your dinner date went great. I'm sure the chairs are good cuz like you said they can take a beating but they keep on seating. Hahaha

A good flashlight with multiple levels is my number 1 aid for low light.
@myvisuallyimpairedlife56745 жыл бұрын
I agree with you. Before my vision loss I was a sewing machine mechanic so I had a handful of some amazing flashlights. Some the size of a pen some size of a mag light. but I had always got the ones that were like military style and could change them to many different light modes. Even strohbe. Even with my light sensitivity I still use them as often as possible. It's kind of like having a pocket knife. If I don't have my knife in my pocket I feel naked. Having a flashlight is almost the same. If only I could fit a roll of duct tape and another pocket. Lol

That's the type of glasses that I had in the video. The ones that wear 90% of the day. I like them cuz they're Amber lenses or plum from what I've heard and they also have lenses on the sides of the handles for the arms so I could utilize what little peripheral vision I have left. I should have mentioned that in the video. It's a little details you always forget. Lol Thanks for watching listening to the video my friend Hope things are going good on your end.

Hey Vincent. As usual, another great vid. I have no idea why, but, I always end up smiling when I have listened/watched one of your videos. I can't put my finger ion why this is lol. I have fair few pairs of shades. I kin d change them up every now and again. I don't have peripheral vision - so, the ones with the side view don't really matter to me, but I love how these glasses work for those with some peripheral - great idea. I think they are called "Orion" at the RNIB? I use the RNIB "Saturn" eye shields - they fit great, have all the different coloured lenses for different conditions and environments, and fit really well. Im using the Grey ones the most at the moment when outside, but when inside, I tend to use the Amber ones - they just feel more comfortable for me. I am always taking them off, putting them on, taking them off, putting them on when going in different shops and restaurants etc. I think, Oh, ill be fine without them - guess what, its too bright. Then I think I need them, and its too dark sometimes lol. I also wear the yellow ones sometimes indoors, and also I find that they are great at night time, in the car ( when I am being driven of course, not when Im driving haha) Some days, I am more sensitive to the light than others - it's strange. At the moment, I have an annoying half circle of bright light at the bottom left of my left eye - it drives me bonkers. If I am sat on the sofa in the living room, I keep thinking, I thought I turned that lamp off. I go to switch it off, and of course its already off - its just this weird bright light that's always there. mentioned it to the doctors, but, all they ever say is , the structure of your eye is ok, so, just one of those things!!! I didn't know you had the Orcam. What do you think of it? I have it, and have had it for about 18 months, but have only used it a handful of times. I remember, a short time after I had it, we went to a restaurant, and I was super excited about having it read the menu - instead of having it read to me by someone else. I turned it on, and looked at the menu - all of a sudden there was like a huge beam of super bright light, and everything in the restaurant around us went quiet. It must have looked like I was taking photographs with a flash! I snatched the orcas, put it in my pocket, and haven't really used it since lol. Do you sue it. a lot. I was thinking of maybe trying it when out shopping to read labels etc. What do yo mainly sue it for? I loved the story about your dad - I can actually see how that could happen, because although he hasn't got the physical eyeball in situ, the optic nerves are still clearly there. It makes me think that one day, as long as the optic nerve is there, they will be able to interpret images through e optic nerve bionically where a physical eye has lost its use, by use of technology - how fabulous would that be. I saw a FB post today about something called insight - looks interesting, I will be looking at it a little closer - see what its all really about. Anyway - as ever, I have been quite the chatterbox. Take care my friend and stay safe....till next time Terry

Oh this sure was a lot to take in. Lol but again I love comments like this. like I said before you and I need to chat on messenger cuz you sure got a lot to talk about and so do I. Hahaha When it comes to the light on your eye that is normal. I get that too but I don't see it in the bottom I see it behind me as weird as that sounds. one night I was laying in bed and it literally felt like there was an orbit light behind my head and every time I looked to see what the light source was coming from there's nothing but wall. I thought it was strange I thought it was a ghost. Lol Come to find out it's just something new that my eyes started to do. Whenever I walk into a pitch black room the peripheral vision I still have will start to light up as if someone turned the light on behind me. It is the weirdest thing ever. but I am sure that will stop at some point and then it'll be something different That's the fun of optic nerve damage. Always something new. when it comes to the orcam I am working on a full review video. The only reason it's taking me so long is because I want it to be perfect it's kind of the biggest project I've done yet on KZbin. I want to do it justice. so I can't tell you too much but I can tell you is I forget the dang thing every time I go out. But I found a way to remedy that. Which I will tell you in my upcoming video eventually. Sorry about that but just like you I took it to a restaurant the first day I had it and I read a menu for me so I thought it was absolutely amazing and yes the flash went off but nobody as far as I could tell was paying attention. Dad are they were just politely ignoring me. I'm truly glad that you enjoy my videos and I'm still happy it was able to help you with the Braille School information. I never ended up going out the paperwork that day. I actually forgot then got lazy every other day after. I need to do that. Lastly, you are the second person to tell me about those sunglasses. I need to look into those. I like the ones I have right now but the arms don't stay tight. they fall off my head all the time but the lenses have been truly scratch resistant because they have not got a single scratch and I've dropped them at least a thousand times not even being sarcastic. Every time I kneel down they fall off my head. It's always a blast chatting with you my friend. It's nice to know you and I have so much in common when it comes to light sensitivity. And we're both chatterboxes.

Your accumulation of sunglasses, some of whih are crucial and most of which are not, reminds me of my collection of lighted magnifying devices. I'm able to get by for the time being with dark plum wrapharounds, and a pair of much less tinted ones I wear indoors when my eyes are really bugging me and light sensitive. I used to love the amber tint for light control, and yellow tint to control glare, but now that I've found the plum tint, I stick with it. It's apparently commonly the most preferred colour sunglasses for people with 'sensitive eyes' (aren't they all kinda sensitive, even when they've lost a lot of vision?) at the C N I B. Great video and content! Sounds like overall the best advice is to be prepared to spend more for quality items, as the cheap stuff is beyond useless. I found the same things with magnifying glasses etc -- the cheap stuff from wal mart was just not worth it. Thanks for such a great video Vincent, hope you and your wife are gardening your hearts out at your M I L's place!
@myvisuallyimpairedlife56745 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the awesome comment. and I think the ones I have are actually called plum. Now that I think about it I think that's what the lady told me from low vision when she gave them to me. I'm just used to calling him Amber. Unfortunately, we did not get a chance to do any gardening this year. Too much going on. we have about 30 trees or more getting cut down in a week from now so we had to prepare our house for the job. After the first tree filled our house years ago my wife is PTSD about the whole tree deal so we're trying to clear out this trees as possible around our property. I noticed you prep a video today I will be watching it in the morning. Just had to get this video done and I forgot all about it. Lol so I was up really late trying to finish it. For some odd reason I thought I had exported the video. But I had not so it took a long time to get done. Thanks for watching the video as always I hope life is treating you good in Canada.

@@myvisuallyimpairedlife5674 Glad you guys are getting your treeline situation taken care of, especially after that first tree was such a near miss! We border on a green space with a little gulch, creek, and old trees along the back edge of our yard. There's been a tonne of development on the neighbouring border over the past few years, and I'm noticing a definite, unnerving LEAN from the tall trees that are left in the green space, unfortunately without the support of neighbouring tree roots to stabilise the soil. Already had a tree fall on my S U V, fortunately without any damage, but it's just a matter of time, man. Just one more wind storm !

@@KonjikiKonjiki well listen to this, the main reason we are so quick to get rid of them is we know somebody nearby that a tree falling their house. in this shows how what your miracle was for our son. Because they had a smaller pine tree still big though than their house and explice through from top all the way to bottom. Yes I should have added that that some things even with sunglasses still bother me badly. Some lights are just so vibrant even sunglasses tend to not help. and the pain I get behind my eyes is horrible. Throbbing pain that feels so severe sometimes that really feels like someone is signed the optic nerve off of my eyeball.
