Not a lot of people realize how useful a weighted wacky is. It doesn’t make it fall a lot faster unless it’s a decent amount of weight like a 1/16 ounce. What it does do is allow the worm to fall directly down as opposed to drifting on the fall. Plus it does make the worm have a little more shimmy. I really like the yum dinger on a weighted wacky and also a Yamamoto senko is really good.

The dinks are definitely hard on soft plastics. Last Saturday I burned through a whole package of Stroker Craws catching pounders. The 5 and a half pound cat fish hardly touched it. Great viDebo!

Back from my fishin Quest this morning. Was about to give up with the wind picking up to 15 mph. When it hit me.... top water should be better. Put on the Berkeley Choppo in Maverick color and found a point with a cross wind and went to work. First time in years they were really vicious. Caught a couple close to 3lbs, but every one of them was 2+lbs and had the bait deep in their mouths. Love me some top water in the morning.

Wacky or Neko never disappoints. in Fl they have been biting large worms and speed worms real good. Dark buzz bait at dusk and dawn have been getting some decent sized fish in the boat. Good looking bass you caught. 👍🏻

Saw this setup and decided to give the weighted wacky a try. My lake is 35-70' deep most places. Have caught very nice bass every time since. Biggest being a 4lbs largemouth and a 4 lbs smallie. Thanks for the tip Debo!

Just got home from fishin and found myself going back to the basics again. With all the colors of soft baits, I actually put a black Zoom finesse worm on my dropshot and caught fish better than I have in a long time. Water is stained and not clear but I have been having good luck with sand color recently. Today,....it was a black worm & they were on it quick!!! I have been asked if I only had one color to use from here on out,... I always have the same answer.....black. It's just a no brainer for me but I haven't thrown one in 8 years. Wacky rig is a wicked technique right now too. I like what you did with that criss cross setup. Missle Baits are the way to go. Thanks for sharing. I'm making plans to go back in 12 hrs

When they broke your worm you should have moved the o rings to the middle of what was left instead of replacing it. I've caught many fish by using what's left with both wacky rigs and Texas rigs. The shorter they get the better the fish bite.

Debo, if you are finding yourself going through a bunch of worms I use an idea from the Fluke Master. I saw on his channel where he uses a 3/8" clear heat shrink tube in the middlish area. I have coupled this with the 5/16" o-rings and I almost never break worms anymore. It does take some prep time to pre-shrink tube some worms. Also, there are some great weedless hooks by gamakatsu with a little 1/16oz or 3/32 weighted head. Food for thought, Tight lines my friend. Also, I finally hit my first topwater fish of the season, a 3lb smallie on the river2sea bullwa2. Then proceeded to hit nothing on top water and only on the wacky. I was hoping the frog bite was coming but to no avail.

Wacky rigs are almost guaranteed to catch something when nothing else will. I got one the other day and somehow both the o-rings ended up on the line and my worm was gone. Makes you wish you had an under water camera to see what the hell the fish did to accomplish that. 🤣Great video man!
