Great tip Debo about the wire cutter. I usually use them to bleed my fish. But I had to cut a hook out of a dink bass tongue this past weekend. I am so glad I had them with me.

I’m in love with the wacky rig, just picked up bass fishing with mediocre gear at best. I mainly was a bluegill and cat fisherman, but using Debo’s techniques with the wacky I’ve landed about 4 dinky bass and the top 3 biggest bass I’ve ever caught on a bank in the past few days. Maybe 3-4 lbs each. All in neighborhood ponds and parks. Thanks Debo! Will donate next stream

Sometimes all they want is the wacky rig. My theory is unlike most lures it covers the whole water column. Topwater when it enters the water, middle as it flutters down and bottom bait when it touches down and you dead stick it. That last Bass made the whole trip worth it.

Every lure that worked last year. Doesn't seem to work this year. The only lures that are putting bass on the line are. The KVD Sexy Shad double williow bladed spinnerbait. with a 3.5 White Paddle tail as a trailer and a Wacky rigged Senko weight less. No Topwater, Squarebill crankbait, Chatterbait or Ned rig. I have fished 20 different lures with no bites at all. It seems that a alge bloom has added to the problem. Last year every bait you threw caught bass. Anyone else having this kind of issue? I decided to try a top water today at a nearby lake, first time ever using top water and fought a 22 inch large mouth bass for like 5 minutes because my rod is a very cheap one only meant for like 5 pound line. Great time and hell of a catch

I like how you don't edit out all the dinks after the first one or two. I see the channels where people keep getting big ones, and you see all the cuts, and the shadows jumping. Like we can't guess they were there more than an hour or two between large fish.

That was basically my night of fishing, just without the biggun' to pay off at the end. I smashed five dinks on drop shot, one on a jig. Four of them were even smaller than what you were catching, only slightly longer than the 4-inch worm I was using. I'm not mad though. I enjoy catching them regardless of size. I did catch a couple 2.5-3 pounders over the weekend so I guess I was due for a night of dinks. Better than getting skunked, which was what happened to the guy fishing further down the bank from me 😁

You have to put in a lot of hours catching the ole dinks and getting out tangles and backlashes, breaking off monsters, etc.- in the heat, which can be relentless where I live. Better than a day with the skunks though man, and I usually find this time of year is a grind from the shore, full of buck bass feeding on the young of the year and other bait in the shallower water, and they are so voracious your offerings never sit long enough for a big fat lazy fish to get a chance at it, might have some better luck going with a bit of a heavier jig tossed out passed where you think the fish are holding and worked back under the dinks and giving you at least a chance of better fish seeing it
