Exactly that’s how I moved in my trucking career. I couldn’t sit around at home knowing I can be bringing in some money so before I’d leave I’d already have my next job lined up and waiting for me down time doesn’t pay bills

I agree with your philosophy to a certain extent. Having been in transportation for over 20 years mainly on the Railroad side. I just bought my first truck and started my business this year. I've hired PLENTY of railroaders who've been in between jobs. 90% of these individuals are in between jobs for a reason and they usually don't last. From what I understand about the trucking business it's the same thing. Knowing that I'm a start-up and small business if that working individual is willing to bet on me. Please believe I'm investing in them. That only tells me that this individual is hungry, eager to learn, and work. You are correct by not making promises but why settle on that floater. We need our employees all in or all out. Brother keep up all the positive energy you put in the atmosphere. I appreciate every video you put out.

I'm a CDL Class A driver for Pepsi. I've had my CDL for almost a year. Before driving Class A I drove 26ft box trucks delivering furniture. Eventually I want to go OTR for myself. I've been thinking about starting off with a box truck. I feel that I could pocket more money due to the fact that the overhead on a box truck could be lower than starting with a tractor. Do you have any advice on this?

Go with a class A truck. The issue is that the class C and B OTR Markey is FLOODED with people who I call "penny drivers" they are people who drive down the value of freight by running for pennies. And there's so many of them

Had to conserve money for this time period and God opened up another door, but I'm still building out this business model and dreaming about it. Watching his videos helped me realize financially it wouldn't have been a wise decision to make with me transitioning in life at the time

I have been looking for a driver for maybe 2 months. I'm looking for on the road at least 3 weeks and pay is negotiable. I offer percentage of gross and cent per mile based on experience. I've had quite a few slip through my fingers and I was frustrated. They want local gigs. I don't offer that. I offer SE region. Others had personal issues. Others were put off because they want to tell me certain states and certain things they won't do and there's no compromise. Just a lot of bull s$&t to me. I'm studying to get my CDL now and enrolling in a school. Lol I'd rather just drive for myself. Lol less headache. My point is you newbies in the trucking industry build tough skin finding a dedicated driver is one of the hardest parts. Good luck.

I don't really agree so much with this particular tip just because I'm the type of person that just isn't going to walk out on a job without having somewhere else to work. Not just quit and figure it out so that would mean if someone is without a job looking they either got fired or walked out on someone else and left that other small business in a bad situation so I don't know if those are the type of people id be looking to hire. Just a thought really

If I had a company, my primary concern would be drug-free, no CSA points, and criminal background check. Hiring by the buddy system can ruin a good contract with shippers....saw it elsewhere on KZbin. 👍

It’s not the buddy system. Everything you mentioned and more comes into consideration when I hire, but we don’t get that far into conversation if they are already employed for reasons I mentioned in the video. Thanks for the feedback.
