Dave your video truly impacted my life and our business. Had i not heard this video i would not have the business with direct shippers today. My insurance tripled but so did the revnue. Part of the reason is because we are such a new trucking company. But each year the insurance cost will decrease thus increasing profits. Thank you for being transparent.

9 months in on trucking. COVID killed my chauffeur job. Went to major trucking company, 3 more months until they pay off the loan. Started working as a trainer after 7 months. Seeing the opportunities for owning your own truck. So I will follow your content. My next move will be my own authority. My friend was getting his authority, in California, but insurance quote was $40,000 a year as he only had 9 months experience. He ended up going to Utah and got insurance for $18,000. I am also keeping up with him and continuing to learn.

Brother, I understand. I am in a different field entirely, but I have had on 2 separate occasions, have had existing relationships lead me to the opportunity of a lifetime......world travel, high pay, time off, and beautiful experiences.....I choked both times, and I carry those experiences with me as a teacher, now I am all about professional risk

Hindsight is 20/20. Of course now you look at it as a missed opportunity because you hear how good it is to haul freight for that company. At the time, you were new to trucking, probably didnt have the cash flow to deal with the cost ofninsurance, and if ANYTHING would have gone wrong that soured the relationship, you might have put yourself in a serious bind. I think you made the right choice. You are doing well regardless, so I would say you should have no regrets. Thanks for all the great information.

I know this video is focused on tapping into our "spheres of influence" but my take away, as we set out to create our own brokering firm, is not to let fear control us and our decisions. I am sure each of us have stories from our own lives that we can plainly see, in hindsight, how fear dominated our decision making process and we failed to prosper because of it. Thanks for being vulnerable and reminding me how important it is to fee the fear and DO IT ANYWAY!!!!

A lot of people don't know that that's where the gold is. build your fleet up. Manage profits to wear you can grow smoothly and keep drivers happy. Build credit so when someone comes with an offer worth taking you can put the clamps on it that's where the pot of gold lies.

Lesson learn yet similar situation with Fed Ex use to drive for them on the International Crew. Nevertheless we handle all cargo from the airport I was working the San Francisco International Airport and relocated to Sacramento but the Fed Ex crew wasn't the same and stop because of money issues with Fed Ex and employee. However became a independent truck driver. I spent like 2 years with Fed Ex , Amazon and Ontrac yet practice independent contractor for different companies when a contract is sign. A lot of companies have internal affair problems so I don't trust the contract and usually companies cancel the job. Equally important I drive and run my own service and business. I drive a 28 feet truck holding 26,000 pounds or less Class C driver ......
