Hi Beauties!
I am Shanese Danae, a Florida based digital content creator. I’ve been on KZbin off and on for over 10 years ( I know, I know that's a really long time to not have much growth). I never looked at KZbin as a source of income. Honestly, it was just something that I did for fun at the time. I’ve recently decided to focus on my passions and really grow my KZbin Channel. I am currently a full-time entrepreneur with many talents. A lot of you know me for my skincare tips, or for my permanent loc extensions. However, there’s a lot about me that you didn’t get to experience which is my background in brand/social media marketing..
I’m the president and founder of SHIC Beauty. I am a licensed Aesthetician with many specialties. I also have my Masters in Business Administration. I began to document my acne journey on my KZbin channel, but deep down I always knew I wanted to eventually open my own businesses within the beauty industry, so I did. Helping others succeed in their dreams is something that I will forever have a passion for. I like to say that my 3rd business found me, and that is becoming a goto person for entrepreneur tips, social media strategies, brand strategies to help promote small businesses. My goal is to have my youtube channel reflect that.
Let's inspire one another by sharing tips without judgment. “It is better to fail in originality than to succeed in imitation.”
I hope you all continue to support the growth of my channel.
My Goal: 50,000 Subscribers by Dec 2020

I just loc’d my hair a month ago with loc extensions as well , I was tired of the wigs and to be honest the protective styles wasn’t protective at all! I wasn’t taking care of my hair underneath ( meek mills braids lol) I also would get braids but it was time consuming and the prices were getting outta hand. For the wigs & braids, I’m loving my decision . Thank you

"Your journey is your journey." This!! Exactly this! Because at the end of the day, unless you add obviously fake colored extensions, who can even tell? Or even cares? Four years from now when my extensions are chopped off, does it matter how I got to that point?

I just locked my hair up this year. As of December it will be 6 months since I started. I have not gone back to get my hair retwisted because financial reasons. So I've been keeping it kind of twisted on my own. I absolutely love having locs. I've always wanted my hair to get longer and I was tired of getting it braided only to have to take it out after 4 months because it would get crazy. This is totally work better for me. And other than having to deal with my gray hair which I have a lot, I really do enjoy having locs.

I just started my loc extension may 14, 2020 my hair is about 2inch long, I did want to go thru the short UGLY STAGE 😂🤣so I’m cheating and that’s okay with me, some of my extensions have slide off, I have had them put back on, my hair texture is real curly, so I know it will be a while before my hair starts to lock, so Im willing to go thru the whole loc stage, one thing I can say is that I LOVE IT. I can get up know my hair his done my edges get real curly because of my natural hair texture it looks beautiful, I get a lot of compliments. Of how it really makes me look different, from the short hair cuts I had thru the years, I’m looking forward to my one yr anniversary, then I will have my extensions cut off so I can style my own natural locs❤️❤️❤️

You did cheat lol and that's okay. Own it. You put in loc extentions. And that's okay, and people will say you cheated, because you technically did. But that's you and your hair and you can do whatever you want to do with your hair. It's okay you cheated. Call a spade a spade. And that's okay. That's all I'm saying.

I just did what I thought was best for me. It’s no different than someone fixing their locs with extensions lol same concept 😏 just saying. My natural hair was locd and I wanted a little more length so I added. I’m just bold enough to say what it is. 🌸💖 🤔 I didn’t know it was a game.
@backtalker4698

@@ShaneseDanae I don't see anything wrong with doing what is best for you. That's fine. The part of "fixing your locs with extensions" there's no difference. Hair added is fake. It's not yours. I'm not putting you down or anyone with loc extentions. But it is what it is. A lot of people see locs at its original spiritual journey. No cutting locs or add in fake extensions. People are free to do what they like with their hair. I'm just saying own it. Nothing bold about what you're doing. You're just being honest. And that's respectful. I'm happy you're up front with your journey. A lot of loc people aren't. So good for you being honest and up front.
@kelimah2

This idea of "cheating" with loc extensions is destructive. It is another way that us brown people are again creating division amongst ourselves- please stop it- don't participate in it- don't restate it- don't spread it. We have complained that not wearing your hair in a natural texture( ie. Brazilian or Indian weave) is being brainwashed and not being true to our culture. Now we are creating a new standard of being "natural enough" . Can we just be happy that brown girls are finding freedom, beauty, and self love in a style that has traditionally belonged to brown people.
@backtalker4698
@backtalker4698 4 жыл бұрын
@@kelimah2 absolutely. But it is what it is. No one is creating divisions. Just stating facts. Extentions added is...by definition, cheating. It's gaining an advantage by faking longer length. That being said. People have the right to do as they please. I don't care if you're relaxed, natural, loc, or whatever. Call a spade a spade. That's like saying...it's destructive to say just because I add weave into my hair doesn't make it not my hair. It isn't your hair. It's absolutely not your hair. Weave and fake extensions are not your hair. It isn't destructive to say so. Again, for the ones who are unable to hear me from the back. It's cool. Wear Weave, wear loc extensions, wear add ins and press ons. What is liberating is not how the hair is done... what is liberating is owning your truth and calling it exactly what it is and owning your truth regardless of what that truth is. I can appreciate people speaking the truth. It's fake. It's not real. It's a add on. It didn't grow naturally and that's okay. IT'S OKAY. I respect she's open with this because ALOT of loc sisters are not. They have this image and selling this image and the image is fraud. She isn't doing that. She's open and honest and speaking her truth and it's not what some people might call it cheating... it is! Just accept it. I added fake hair for my own purposes .. and that's okay!

Ebony Roots if you don’t care what other do to their hair then why did you write this whole dissertation? People are too freaking obsessed with what others do to their hair. Every journey I’ve been on with my hair (natural, wigs, weaves,etc) there’s always a group of “ mean girls” that feel the need to be negative about someone else hair adding their rusty two pennies that wasn’t asked for. Like she said YOUR JOURNEY IS YOUR JOURNEY! Why can’t we just compliment support and be happy for one another??? Seems like we are divisive about everything in the black community. It really makes me sad. But I won’t be sad when I “cheat” and get these loc extensions in a couple weeks. I will walk proud with my head held high with my cheating locs blowing in the wind...
