That bleach talk is REAL talk , I never hear anyone admit to this. I started my third set of locs recently (just hit my 3 months!!!) and after dying my hair since like highschool I have also realized myself that every time I went blonde/platinum my hair wound up becoming brittle and crunchy. A year ago I shaved my head for the last time and started my most healthy and nurtured set of locs june of 2020! To growth everyone!

@lynnmac51164 жыл бұрын
I've had my locks for 21 years. They are past my waist now, but they were mid thigh. Bleaching my hair definitely damaged it. 😫 I've always palm rolled it, but decided to interlock it and that was a bad idea also because it slowed caused breakage. Just let your hair do its thing naturally. I use essential oils mixed with natural hair care products that I buy. I also have always allowed my hair to dry naturally.
@ShaneseDanae4 жыл бұрын

I’m one year 3 months into my loc journey. People compliment my locs and all that but personally, I think it’s ruined. They still feel spongy and the ends are STILL not blunted . Luckily I don’t have build up but man, I just feel like my locs are suffering. I’ve come too far to cut them off though.I just feel stuck.
@ShaneseDanae4 жыл бұрын
Wait Whyyyyy? What don’t you like about them? Is it the way they feel or look. I need more details. Don’t cut them😫 I mean unless it’s making you that unhappy. Definitely follow your peace
@Jsween8764 жыл бұрын
@@ShaneseDanae they look fine but they feel spongy. They're still not at the density to be called locs. I feel like I can comb it out easily at the ends. When it grows, the roots grow apart from the loc too even though I do the interlocking method. Its grown alot since I started with no build up but I just feel like its taking forever to *mature*.
@Michelle-hu3zn4 жыл бұрын
@@Jsween876 it may just be part of your process. I have very fine hair with three different curl patterns. My hair just looked curly for the first year of my loc journey. I hated it!!! Then it finally started to form locs. The back two rows never locked lol. It was just straight hair that refused to submit to the process lol. This time around, I instant loc'd and added extensions. I hope you find your groove and whatever works for you and your hair ☺️

Hey sis! If your hair isn’t locing then yes some ppl would interlock that loc to help it loc. I’ve tried castor oil, coconut oil, shea butter, etc. anything that consists of any type of oil my scalp get super itchy and I start to break out really bad. Do you have any suggestions I could try? Maybe I should only put oils on my hair instead ?

Try spraying it with water mixed with the lemon grass spray by alikay naturals. It has oils mixed but it’s not as heavy and see if that works. I can totally relate to that. I can only put oil in my scalp every so often.

I believe you can but it depends on how the loctician does it. Some people still have a little texture to their locs. However palm rolling might be the best method if your looking for a complete uniform loc. Although, sometimes the locs do whatever they want to do anyway 😂
