You can be proud of all your hard work and patience. Amazing how much old stock is still available. Wife’s cousin was cleaning up and gave me his original 1944 Ames entrenching tool with a cracked handle. I was going to just repair it but we have an old wooden tool handle factory nearby so decided to ask if they had a new piece of hickory I could use. Went in and asked and the manager chuckled and went into his office. He came out a little later with an original handle. Turns out they had made thousands of them for the war and still had a few rattling around.

Fantastic restoration. My brother and I bought a 1943 Ford GPW in 1963. Seemed like it was ancient even back then. We were ages 14 and 16 at the time, obviously, didn’t have the financial resources to Restore it. It was flat black primer and many of the original features have been covered over. But it gave us many and exciting adventure traveling in the mountains and deserts of the south west of US. We will never forget it, and I’m now looking for another already Restored as per your advice!

Glad to see the windshield finally on it, now you can keep it folded down on the bonnet 😁 Hats off to you for the level of detail that has gone in to rebuilding both this MB and the earlier GPW. I personally would've preferred that you kept the GPW too, I was a little sad when you decided to sell it.

I put a Solex in mine and was very pleased. It finally cured my flooding problems with the original Carter. When you exceed 80% restored, that's when it really gets expensive. The small parts kill your wallet!

Very nice to see you driving your Jeep. So many of them are driven up (or pushed) onto a trailer on their way to the showroom floor. Amazing how many NO$ part$ you have on it. Good-O. Absolutely have to agree with the original feel of an old vehicle. My original '66 Chevy K10 is a trip down old-school lane. 1960s drivetrain that whines and drives like a tractor. Or a Jeep. Actually very similar, but much larger. I think I could fit a Flat Fender in the bed of my truck.

So now what? You cant leave us hanging. Your production quality is the best of all the WWII vehicle restoration videos on the tube. Maybe a Bantam restoration or a Converto Dump. Or even restoration videos of equipment or signal corps generators. Dont stop on just jeep production. Or even more interviews and reviews of other wwii equipment. Say halftracks, Dodge, tanks etc. Keep it up.

Very good job on the restoration Greenie. Can you get a non firing M1 Garand? And an M1911A1?? Maybe get your HAM radio license so you can use the radio when you get one and put it in the ham bands :-) :-) My friend in Grimsby would love a ride :-) He is a ham radio operator. Very nice jeep and kudos on all your hard work. You are now an honorary yank :-) Drive it around on July 4th.

I haven't seen all your Jeep videos but, if not already, you must make one showing how to use the transfer box levers, that is if you know yourself. The levers on a Series Land Rover (red and yellow) do the same functions but in a little more involved way. It is surprising how many Land Rover users do not know when and how to use these correctly.

It's a very strange feeling driving a jeep,....or any other allied military vehicle for that matter in and around the Normandy area knowing that's where things happened. I'll never know the history of where my jeep has been but all indications are,....she never went overseas during the war but stayed in the UK and at some time,..was in the British Army until some time before 1950 when she was first registered for British roads by the first private owner. Now though,..she has been over to France so i do know what it's like driving a jeep on French roads. Just a quick question,....is the horn on yours a Sparton ? Mine had a period British made horn by Clear Hooters of Birmingham fitted !!!!

It might be hard (to rebuild an old vehicle) - an uphill struggle - but it is why we do it , if it was easy would we bother? If you need any advice on a Jaguar E-type look me up. I have rebuilt two - and now I have a GPW to do !

Hi there, recently subscribed here. First of all, loving your content ! Haven't had the chance to view everything yet, but very helpful and interesting info ! I was wondering though (Perhaps this has been asked in a previous video): But have you done a video on Fuel, fuel types and lead additives before ? I'm using Total Excellium 98 (Because I'm based in Belgium.) Advantages: Up to 99% less dirt deposts in the engine. Hightech unleaded fuel. Consists of premium 98 fuel with a cocktail of specific additives through research by Total. Cleaner engine which reduces fuel consumption. Reduced emissions Extends engine lifespan Compatible with 100% of petrol engines Protects both old and new engines Mon 87 Ron 98. I use it for both my Dodge WC 51 and Chevrolet C15A. I never add any fuel additives due to their presence in the petrol, yet my uncle adds it to his GMC CCKW. From what I heard it's not necessary because: - It's always short trips, max 1000 miles per year. - Due to max rev range of 4000 revs, not enough heat and lead build up can happen. - Better grade of fuel negates the need for additives as these exist in the fuel. Curious about your stance/insights on this topic ! :)

@@Greendot319 I got into the Dodge power wagons for yrs and used them on a daily basis, even the 49 which was pretty much the same as the WWll Dodges. 7 garages are required plus storage for 7 more vehicles, winter and summer require different conciderations. That's the only I can think of dealing with so many toys, too little time.

Great looking Jeep now that the windshield is fitted! It really makes it look complete. BTW, are you planning on keeping the M201 bonnet on? It's quite noticeable how this one sticks too far out over the grill. (originals may be hard to find, but it'll definitely be worth it.)

Good stuff. How does your cowl rubber fit? And what kind is it? Or was this the bending you did to allow clearance? I have recently acquired a JMP seal to replace my french one that still pinches under the windscreen arms…
