Sir…….you would EASILY be my fav plant channel on KZbin were you more active. I’ve been OBSESSED with trying to track down filmy ferns and other more rare and truly difficult to come by plants since discovering your channel. I’ve gotten lucky with a few magical mini finds but still have yet to own even a single filmy fern of my very own. Might be time to start posting to my own social media so I have more opportunity to meet other rare, mini tropical goody lovers that way. LOVE every single video on here and keep learning so much from them. Cheers!

Thank you! I wish I was more active as well...I'm struggling with some things. Regarding meeting other similar people, have you joined my Facebook group? facebook.com/groups/RareMiniatureTerrariumPlants (FYI: the group doesn't allow discussing buy/sell/trade, only sharing pics and info, but you can message people privately outside the group to inquire). Hope this helps. Thanks for watching my channel and for the kind words.

@@AnotherWorldTerraria heya! Thank YOU for the thoughtful reply. I HAVE, in fact, joined your fb group. Tbf I’m guilty of not being at all as active on fb as I am here on yt. I absolutely recognize what goes into the making and editing of high quality videos such as you post. Really hope I didn’t come off as critical as I understand the people behind the channels are real humans with real human lives which should take the bulk of one’s focus and energy. My mini rant was for sure my (selfishly) wishing for more of the content you provide as I do not see anyone else doing so at the same level (re TRULY rare specimens) or quality. Again , I very much appreciate what you HAVE taken the time to share as I very much acknowledge the work which goes into the procurement, care, research etc of the plants themselves…let alone the making of such videos. I will absolutely make sure to switch my focus over to the the Facebook group so I can see about making some likeminded flora obsessed friends. I’ll avoid immediately harassing complete strangers for plant procurement connections right off the back…even via private messaging. Hope things are going well for you in general sir and I’ll look forward to whatever you DO have time to share next. 😌🌱

I enjoy my Sinningia pusilla. I purchased my Sinningia pusilla as seeds. It's an exotic plant that is affordable to all. They do quite well in a well-drained closed terrarium. They are self-seeding so if you get a couple going, you'll have more soon. The seed pod can be dissected with a pair of tweezers and the tiny seeds can be easily sowed. For some reason I can't remember, I put one in a 32 oz. pickle jar a couple of years ago and the plants are happy, reproducing, and amazingly, the soil is soggy! Normally they like well-drained soil. It's a fun plant, blooms well. Great video as always, thank you!

Wow! Great choices. For me it’s a toss up between the Lindsaea sp. and that stunning Selaginella sp. White. I’m game for anything clinging to a drip wall. Great video - glad you’re back (although your voice is fresh in my mind as I watched six of your videos over again just four days ago!!!!)

First time seeing you account, love it. have you had luck creating vivs using The speaker foam mesh as a substitute for hygrolon?
@AnotherWorldTerraria
@AnotherWorldTerraria Жыл бұрын
after testing the mesh I don't like it. I will use real Hygrolon from now on unless I can find a suitable replacement, which I have not yet.

So this is probably a dumb question and not related to this video but im new to the terrarium thing. I was looking at one of your older videos, the wabi kusa bowl and i was wondering. I know to add springtails to a terrarium with a lid and to open it every so often. But do you put springs in ones with open tops like the wabi kusa bowl or say a 10 gallon open top tank paladarium? Would they jump out or stay in? I like longevity. I want the things im going to try to make to be like little ecosystems and last a minimum of 5 years. From my very very little understanding, springtails are a must. So do they go in the open top ones? You may have already covered this but i just found your channel when i looked up how to keep springtails. Awesom videos so far.
@AnotherWorldTerraria
@AnotherWorldTerraria Жыл бұрын
@jessicamcdaniel4466 Asking questions is smart, so you can learn. I would not put springtails in something shallow like the wabi kusa bowl. That said, often there will naturally be springtails which show up from plants. In that case just leave them. In a taller tank such as a 10 gallon, you could add springtails. Generally most of them will stay put. Some may journey outward but most will be fine. To be clear, if a terrarium or similar build is done correctly, it can easily last 5+ years. That said, you'll need to still do maintenance. Hope this helps. Thanks for watching my channel!

Hi there , I really enjoy your feed and your plants, I have one question, could you tell me a good potting mix for ferns that I could apply , I really mess up when it comes to ferns, Tia
@AnotherWorldTerraria
@AnotherWorldTerraria Жыл бұрын
Unfortunately that depends on the species of fern. There are many thousands of ferns from different habitats so there is not one correct substrate. I suggest you research the species you have and what the natural habitat is like. I hope that gives you a direction to look in.
