So nice to see you back! And I'm thrilled to see your completed Brightfeather. I've been watching it evolve since the beginning an it turned out wonderfully. So, I'm with you on the elastic waist band preference and I recently figured out a great hack when the fabric doesn't have quite enough lycra or maybe is not quite heavy enough to support the weight of the garment. I underline the waist band with ponte de roma. It gives wonderful structure without the "elastic effect." File that one away in case you every have that problem.

I made a pattern and sewed a piece on wrong, unpicked and actually sewed it on wrong AGAIN! Talk about frustrating! Then it ended up being way too big. I tried to make it smaller (without unpicking it). I've put it aside not wanting to work with it any more. If the resizing didn't work it goes in the circular file (trash). I find neckbands to be quite tricky. Thanks for sharing your suggestions. Beautiful job on your sweater. The pattern looks perfect! Haven't tried color work knitting, and can't say I'm terribly interested (yet) being a newbie to knitting. FYI, this video has been one of my favorites. Lisa I feel your pain on the boo boos! I don’t want to call attention to it other than it’s not your usual and I wanted to add that I have been preoccupied I think and I can’t believe the irritation and aggravation I’ve bestowed on myself in the past month or so with mistakes I sit there and say, no I didn’t ... mad then do it again! I spent almost three days trying to make a wanted tee, by Vanessa (?) and kept telling myself, it’s just two v necks you can do this. Apparently not. It’s pretty rugged at the corners of the neck band, but I have finessed it pretty well, ugh. What I mainly wanted to tell you is I’m blown away by the sweater you knitted!! I used to knit when I was really young, just basic. I’m hoping to pick it back up this year and that sweater is so up my alley! Everything about it, including the darker cuffs. It’s inspiring for sure. Please don’t forget to share your knitting, I bet I’m not alone in your viewers that love seeing what you’ve knitted / created. I loved all of your makes and the details. The sweater is gorgeous! On your knit neckbands- are you cutting them at 80% and stretching them to fit? The neckband needs to be smaller than the neckline of the garment so it hugs the body. I wish I could see how you are doing these because it took me a while and lots of practice to get it right. I also topstitch the seam allowance down so its flatter.
