Nice car ! 69 ss396 here , however I yanked the motor and stashed it and dropped in a 454 with aluminum heads ,built 12 bolt,th400, naturally aspirated 850 Holley tweaked . I love elcos

I've been building a 55 Chevy 2 door post car I have. It didn't have a motor when I got it so I pulled a motor out of an S-10 conversion I bought several years ago from a guy I didn't know. He said he thought it was a 327. Well, after I decoded it I learned it's a 1971 El Camino 350. It's never been bored out but needs it. I have a set of TRW .30 pistons for it. After watching your video I'm sure it's gonna make that old 55 giddyup and move. Maybe eventually I'll find a 71 ElC and put it in that. I'm going to build it after watching your video. I love your car!

Glad your video popped up. You have a beautiful car that sounds great and has plenty of power. I can see why you love it so much. I’ve always been fond of El Caminos. I’ve had El Caminos over the years, but always sold them to get the next car. Just bought a 72 that I plan to keep this time. It’s a driving project car that I’ll work on as I go. I’m always wishy washy about what color to paint my cars. Your car sure makes me want to go black. Man that thing is sharp. Hope you’re still enjoying today. Yeah I really love this car not doing much with it right now because my day job has me so busy but sooner or later I will get back on it and post some more videos, I actually painted the car myself in my garage, with help from Dad, didn't turn out too bad for a garage job, lots of sanding

I try to get my big block ‘72 C10 to get traction, not spin out.... it won’t hook up at WOT until 70 mph, at WOT in first or second it is on the rev limiter. Sounds similar to your elco, my Straub spec’d Clay Smith HR cam is a torque beast!

Oh yes, 2 inch drop spindles with adjustable coil over shocks, global west drop coils in rear with full global west suspension front and rear

18 by 10 in the rear and 18 by 9 in the front , the back spacing in the rear is very important but I don't recall exactly what the back spacing is, the tire size 285/35-18 rear and 245/ 40-18 front, I think you can actually go a little wider on the back but when I bought my wheels this was as big as I could get

I forgot to respond about the ride height it is not stock I put 2" drop spindles on the front and I have coil over front suspension adjusted even lower, with drop Springs in the back
