Brilliant. First the names. Gounod was the writer of this version of Ave Maria, which he based on music by Bach, the composer. The tenor singing is from Iceland, and is Gissur Pall Gissurarson. Bit of a mouthful. If you want to hear how Amira 's name is pronounced, go back to the video of her audition for Hollands Got Talent in 2013. The judges ask her, and they are all Dutch, so get it OK. Check out the version for English speakers. She won the talent show in 2013, when just 9. She was 11 at this concert in Iceland. If you want to hear some more of this little songbird, a couple of weeks later she sang a solo Ave Maria Gomez. ( William Gomez wrote a totally different Ave Maria) and it is a jaw dropper. She also sang an opera aria called O mio babinno caro, with Andre Rieu, which has been watched by millions of people, it is so mesmerising. She is 19 now, and in the 10 years since she first launched she has sung many stunning performances, and done many wonderful things. She is well worth following up. Enjoy her music.

Good Reaction Roskoe,thank you.This performance wes held in Reykjavik,Iceland.Amira had taught herself to sing by watching videos of,Luciano Pavarotti,Maria Callas and Andrea Bocelli,while copying their mouth movements and singing along with them.Amira had not received any formal singing lessons, before she entered,Holland's Got Talent. Amira had only received a few coaching tips,from the organisers of.HGT.She won the competition with more than fifty percent of the votes.Amira was nine years old,born on 27 March 2004,in The Netherlands,she moved to South Africa in 2018,where her mother is from.Cheers from, Michael Jonathan Lewis, Johannesburg,South Africa.

Holland's Got Talent was not just for kids. There were both children and adults competing. If you watch the video where she is announced the winner, you will see more adult competitors rather than kids on stage waiting for the announcement. Amira blew them all away with more than 50% of the votes.
