My 1st Time Hearing: Michael Spyres - Largo al factotum (Live) Reaction

This comes from the Opera "The Barber of Seville", which is amazingly a comic opera. For years I was convinced that Opera were depressing tragedies where be everybody dies by the end. However this is not true and there are quite a number of comic operas that have happy endings. Has made me much more open to Opera. This performance by Michael and the fun and comedy he brings to it through using his wide ranging voice and facial expressions to tell the story of a Barber Figaro in the story who has basically become the town Agony Uncle at everybody's beck and call and is exhausted by it is just hilarious.

The barber Figaro loves his career. “of great quality”. Opera singers are telling a story and must be actors as well.
