Thank you so much Daniel.....,yes it was a lot of work to bring this bike to the level it is at and having those wire spoked wheels on it was central to my plan and vision. Since I bought it new in 2002 it has been "part of my family" for now 21 years and I really wanted to completely build it to be the bike I always wanted it to be and do it justice in every area... Thanks again for your kind and supportive comments. God Bless BG.

great rebuild. I have the GSX1200, needs something similar. It’s a great engine

In the UK we did not get the 1200........,only the 750 was available. Many guys have fitted a 1200 engine..(Suzuki Bandit..,GSXR 1100 etc) However I had no desire to do this...(I already have 2 other 1200cc motorcycles (Kawasaki ZRX's) I love the styling of this Suzuki......,that really is what sold it to me..,and I wanted to build on this with this project...

Thank you so much....,they are a lovely bike. Ahead of their time in many respects and deserving of the time and attention invested to really set them apart from the crowd... Stock ones getting pretty scarce now too as many have been chopped up and turned into Cafe Racers.

Hello from Munich, I have this Suzuki and love it. Didn’t change anything on it and I think it is a beautiful bike.easy to ride. I tried r nine t and I thought it’s definitely better than my Suzuki because it has new tech but it’s not 14k € better. My bike value is 2K now. The handling of BMW r nine t was 10-20 % better. I have to say I tried street twin and it was 90-95% better than my Suzuki. Triumph will be my next bike for sure.

Yes I agree....,and although there are Many faster~better handling motorcycles available.,it is the 'styling' of this Suzuki that Really appeals to me.. For that reason alone.....,it is "a Keeper"..!

Hi Brian, yet another outstanding video 👍, may I just say how impressed I am with the fantastic standard of workmanship which you consistently manage to achieve in all of your motorbike builds. You’re certainly very talented man and I’m very much looking forward to watching your next bike rebuild video 😊. Thank you Brian, excellent stuff 🙏

Thank you so much. I have a real soft spot for this bike as it kinda got me "back into" bikes after a little break away. In many ways these were ahead of their time (along with the Kawasaki Zephyr series) and was a pleasure to work on.. You can never really convey the entirety of a detailed motorcycle build on a brief video as this one ran to a complex 23 page build on a motorcycle forum. Details here....www.zrxoa.org/forums/showthread.php?360925-02-Suzuki-clean-up.... Thank you once more for your kind..,positive and encouraging comments God bless BG.

Stunning example of this rare bike. I am rebuilding one currently, Could I ask what year zrx the ohlins shock were bought for. Thanks.
@brianwells525810 ай бұрын
Hi thank you for your very kind comments and question. The Ohlins 'shocks' are not from a Kawasaki ZRX....they are Ohlins replacements for the Stock GSX Suzuki 1400 shocks. The Ohlins 'forks' were bought and imported from Japan and they are specific for the Kawasaki ZRX 1200 (2001~2005) I had to make brackets to allow fitment of the Inazuma front mudguard... In addition the Ohlins ZRX specific front forks will not work with the Inazuma front wheel since the fork bottoms are to suit the 25mm dia ZRX front wheel axle...(Suzuki Inazuma front wheel axle is 20mm dia) For this reason (among others) I had Kineo in Italy make the Wire spoked front wheel ZRX specific and the Rear Wheel to be Suzuki Inazuma 1200/750 specific (to be matched as a Pair)... Oh., and Kawasaki ZRX rear shocks will not work since they are 30mm too long and the shock mount eyelets are different... You need Ohlins that are specific for the Suzuki GSX 1400.. Hope this helps.. God bless BG.

Thanks Brian. My mistake. I meant the front forks but mis took them for ohlins. I remember your narration for the rears were the gsx1400 which clarence bell reconfigured for you. I got a pair of gsx1200 rear ohlins shocks for my build. Thankyou it was the front forks i was meaning to ask about so appreciate your reply. Yes I have dymag wheels that i have which i will have to make a special spacer for due to the sizing but inwas going to fit hayabusa front forks but love the look of your build. Thanks again and great work.
@brianwells525810 ай бұрын
Yes the Front forks are Ohlins RWU ...however they are aftermarket specific for the Kawasaki ZRX They are actually the 1st generation Ohlins ones since they have the preload adjuster at the front of the fork bottoms (the 2nd Generation Ohlins ZRX specific do not have this feature and 'all' adjustments are via the fork tops left and right for different settings) They do not "look" as Retro as the 1st generation ones which I prefer) and have on this bike (however they have now been discontinued) Anyway I wish you well with your build of the wonderful Inazuma.. God bless BG.

Thank you so much Luke.....,I've owned this bike from new and always had this vision for it. A long time in the making....,but well worth it, as she is a "forever bike" My vision was always to build it as the factory would/should have without a budget constraint with an emphasis on tastefulness in keeping with its DNA.... God bless BG.

@@brianwells5258 I only came across this as am shortly about to start gathering the parts to build a special one myself with a tuned gsxr engine, but keeping the stock frame. Forks will be changed though, did the zrx forks fit straight in the yokes?
@brianwells5258 Жыл бұрын
@@lukeroberts243 yes the Ohlins forks are 43mm which are a direct fit into the stock Suzuki yokes. I done a very long step by step build thread on the ZRXOA forum showing each stage in detail..(you would probably need to join up as a member there to view it though..) Failing that I loaded well over 100 photos of a lot of the steps onto the Suzuki 750/1200 Inazuma page on facebook....under my name (BG Wells..) Unfortunately facebook is not a great medium for a build since you are limited to how you explain each update and a build thread on a forum is the preferred method...(you can outline much more detail...) Lots of little hurdles along the way......,however that is all part of the fun.. BG.
@lukeroberts243 Жыл бұрын
@@brianwells5258 thankyou for that information! I'd want to upgrade the forks but probably use a better OEM fork rather than ohlins as I want the stock look. I wonder if the zrx forks are any better standard
@brianwells5258 Жыл бұрын
@@lukeroberts243 yes the stock ZRX forks are an improvement over the Suzuki Inazuma ones since they are adjustable (rebound..,preload etc) whereas the Suzuki ones are not. (Although for the stock Suzuki ones you can buy cartridge kits etc..) In addition the brake caliper mounting points are 90mm centers on the ZRX forks enabling you to use 6 pot ZRX or GSXR calipers...or the early Bandit 1200 4 pot Nissan's...,which are a great upgrade Of course you would have to use the ZRX front wheel and its larger 25mm dia wheel axle.,spacers etc and this would allow you to use the stock 310mm dia front brake discs (Suzuki's stock discs are smaller @300mm) ......or upgrade to 320mm aftermarket ones..(however in doing so you'd need aftermarket caliper brackets etc for that option..) You would also need to use the stock ZRX speedo drive and cable to your Inazuma clocks....,however it fits perfectly.. The only snag you will encounter is the mounting of the Suzuki front fender as pointed out on my video.. The fender mounting lugs on the ZRX forks are "stepped" front to rear in pairs.....and in addition they are positioned higher than the lugs on the Suzuki forks... This can be overcome by brackets and spacers if you are going to use the Suzuki fender.......,however you "could" use a ZRX fender without issue and paint it to suit your bike...or opt for a carbon fibre one should you wish instead.... Also note the ZRX 1100 98~99 and early ZRX 1200 (2000~2002) lower fork stanchions are Black.....,whereas the later ZRX (2004~2005 eg) Lower stanchions are Silver....

Thanks so much..!! Yep I bought it new off the showroom floor in 2002... Really appealed to me since it had that retro vibe which reminded me of the old GS 750 I had back in 78/79.. Changed a number of things on it over the years....,without wanting to loose that original character....,but I always wanted wire spoked wheels and even bought a set of Ducati Gt 1000~sport classic ones to fit. ........could have modified a little to have got the rear one in...etc but the front was a deal breaker if I wanted to retain the original analogue clocks..since there was no speedo drive provision off the front Ducati wheel... In the end I had Kineo in Italy custom make me this set...(rear is Inazuma 1200 spec and front is Kawasaki ZRX 1200 spec ) to suit the ZRX spec Ohlins RWU forks.. Could have fitted a Bandit 1200/GSXR 1100 motor...,but decided that was not where I wanted to go with this bike.. A lot get chopped for Cafe racers etc......,so getting hard to get a good "stock" example... Tanks are like hens teeth...! This one will be going to the nursing home with me...Lol because while I am alive she will never be for sale... In many ways (like the Kawasaki Zephyr series.) The 750~1200 Inazuma's were ahead of their time..!!

Also running a Dynojet stage 1 kit and a K&N airbox filted along with a Nikko G Pack (couldn't say one way or the other if it is much noticable benefit or not..) Certainly not for the money...!! Here is a link to it in one of my previous builds of this same bike when I was on the MV Agusta forum many years ago..., The bike then during that build had some of the changes and mods I mentioned in the video here..) www.mvagusta.net/threads/nikko-racing-g-pack-for-my-suzuki.63114/ Hope this helps..
