My 2020 Road Glide INITIAL THOUGHTS

This video is about my 2020 Road Glide Initial Thoughts. My Road Glide has had the 131 M8 screaming eagle stage 4 kit since she was 20 miles old. Initial thoughts of this Road Glide is all i'm sharing, this is not a review.
Got some new camera gear and still waiting for the Dr's blessing to go riding, so i'm trying to sharpen up my #premierepro skills while I have some time. Some new things i'm trying in this video are color grading, shooting better B-Roll (mr. shaky needs a gimbal) and sound effects. (can't wait to start riding again)
Oh yeah, and I talk a little about the new bike 🤙🏻.

I’m gonna comment along with the video, just in one paragraph. 😂 Ughhhhh. No one is happy riding to Ohio lmao 🤢 (I lived there) 😂 I hate the speed limiter on the challenger, it’s dumb although I think it’s 115, just to be one more than harley. 😂 feeling wrong feels so good! I was gonna ask if you still had stock suspension, it’s the best upgrade you can do to a Harley (outside buying an indian) 😂 My ultra classic was soooo awesome in the ride dept. it just almost killed me. In all honestly, the road glide is my second favorite looking fixed fairing bike, First place isn’t the challenger either, I still think my Kawasaki vaquero is the best looking bike I’ve owned in this market.

😂..."outside of buying an indian" LMAO. So i really dig the look of my bike when looking at it, but from the saddle it looks soooo damn weird, i feel like the dash is a mile out in front of me, lol. I really like the Challengers though. those are both really too close for me to call out a favorite.

@@Setzerpendence I agree with ya on the dash, the indian dash is reversed so everything is closer. I feel like the road glide is lower, and mean looking. The ride of the challenger is the ultimate selling point, It’s pretty badass. I hope I’m getting exhaust soon, like in two days. Hahahaha. We need to ride out to your area and kill some miles. Got a 2018 131 road glide. Last year removed the limiter new cam. Got it tuned. I34 hp 144lb toque. I will do every bit of 150 before I get scared lol. You will love it

Went the same route with my 2020 RGL, red and black. A blast to ride for sure, 10,000 miles in my first year. Stored since August 27, 2021 as I'm working overseas again. Haha, I hear you about the 114 mph.

That. Was.... Very entertaining :) I would always go for a kit over a crate. The crate engine is put together on an assembly line, a kit is put together by a technician. I'd have way more confidence in a kit built over a crate engine. It's great to hear someone enjoying their bike like that. I've got a 128 coming up in March, really curious how that's gonna be to ride :).

I gotta agree with you here, got a road glide special at end of the year and been upgrading it to suit me better. Speed limiter sucks balls, I hit it in 4th or 5th and mine is still stock motor for now. Gonna probably go with the stage 4 kit before my 60 days is up because I don't hardly ride below 3k rpms. I do like the RDRS, really nice to have it auto hold the brake on a hill. Gotta turn the traction control off when stopped which sucks cause sometimes you just want to do a rolling burnout.... But I really do love the bike. I feel like its gonna be even better the more I build it out.

My ‘20 Ultra Limited has the 131”. RDRS V&H power duals with 450 destroyer slip ons. Power vision tuner. Wide band O2’s. 139hp 146tq. I’m waiting for spring to get to ride it.

As soon as my warranty is up the first thing to go is gonna be that damn SE tuner and exhaust. I will say, my bike is the "epa" version 131 and it moves just fine.i know others with a real tune with some exhaust makes them things fly

My buddy has a Lloydz tune on his Challenger...freaking awesome!!!! They make Harley tunes that remove the limiter but it voids the warranty. That warranty has saved me pretty good $$ so far...so i'll just keep it under 114 LMAO

The only way around that limiter is the powervision tuner. Or maybe a thunder max. My local dealer will tune with the powervision and do away with the rev limiter, speed limiter. About warranty I'm not sure. Check out the ultimate seats for HD

Thanks for the lead on the seats, i'll have to check em out. I'm pretty sure most name brand tuners ditch the limiters. I've heard of a lot of them being able to do so.

And you can sell your old engine if you bought the crate. That would recoup some of the cost difference between the two... Or put that old motor in something else like a sidecar go kart... The crates are assembled at the factory, and they don't check every piece and spec along the way like they do with the kit install. At least, that's what they told me at the dealership when I went in to get mine. I am opting for the kit. Pick it up when winter is over. I bought the bike brand new with 5 miles on it December 18th, 2021. Never even rode the bike. It went right to their storage facility. It's going to be a long 4 months.

When debating the speed limiter; I was told by the local BMW dealer they’ve got an impossible to circumvent speed limitation on the big Ks due to that big fairing causing the front wheel to unload and lift over a hundred some miles an hour.

i can't find a concrete here is the answer, but somebody suggested (and they seem to be right), the initial speed limited factory bikes have to do with the speed rating on OEM tires.

I got 131 kit. Silver RG special. I agree about the warranty. I got my dealer to buy the kit I paid the labor for install. 30k OTD . The 112 mph crap is BS. Le Pera DLL and 12” KST Outlaws set me just right. I’m 6’1”

i know you don’t like apple,, but the combo with apple iphone and apple watch works spot on,, the watch will basically poke you when a turn is coming, test drove the 2021 road glide special the other day,, (first bagger for me) coming from a non street legal v-rod… and the stock 114 on that bike surprised me, i am in debate on if i should do the stage 4 kit when my cvo road glide finally shows up? any further thoughts or comments from the board here would be helpful

My man, that's awesome 😎. Super stoked for you, your gonna Love it! No luck on the delete. Basically comes down to using a non screaming eagle tuner which nulls the warranty. It's not horrible though. I only got it a few times a day 🤷🏼‍♂️

Well I picked it up and it was nothing short of Amazing! I have had fast bikes b4 113 and 103 yamaha roadliner and warrior which were very quick! This thing feels like it is gonna rip out of my hands! 14" apes don't help....thing just pulls from any rpm/gear. For having 100% warrantied 131 Street ripper I am very impressed. 350mile run on day 2! 450 in 2 days no issues. Yes SPN!!! Thanks for your posts 131 RG Brother!

LIMITERS SUCK, haha yeah, me and my brother both come off Electra Glides. I was hesitant because of how much dash there was but i soon got over it. At the end of a 12 hour day of riding on the hwy next to 18 wheelers, fixed fairing is the way to go. I didn't notice a huge difference when test riding, but at the end of the day i noticed i wasn't no where near as beat up as on my EGlide

to do away with the speed limiter you would have to go with another tuner which would probably void your warranty

Because I didn’t have 114 or 117 and so forth I had a 107. I decide to go with the crate engine the few thousand dollars difference think like one or 2000 2000 something whatever wasn’t worth it to have the motor keys cracked open the crank pulley and all that stuff and rebuilt when all had to do was just take the motor out put the motor in so the crate was the better deal

If your 131 has a harley cam and tuner then u need to take it to a performance shop. They can use a tts, power vision or tundermax tuner and it will get rid of that speed limiter and a different cam can get that thing some real power.

@@Setzerpendence Warranty dont last for ever. Also since it has the screamin eagle lifters that engine has a pretty good chance of self destructing. Lifters are definitely a part I would suggest changing at least because once the warranty is up they won't cover the self destructing screamin eagle lifters.

So you have the kit, not the crate? If someone gets the crate, does that zero your odometer? I have 27k on a stage 2 Roadglide special. If I grabbed the crate, would I still be covered under the warranty?

i bought my bike with the 131 kit already installed. The dealer built it without a specific customer in mind. So in my case, everything is covered under my warranty and my ESP. In your case bud, every deal seems to be a little different. Some offer lifetime warranty (only good at that dealer) it all just kinda depends. It was told to me, if you buy a brand new bike, and have the dealer add / install anything to it within the first 60 days everything is covered under warranty. if you have a used bike, then add the motor, i don't know how it works but i would imagine you are gonna get some sort of warranty on the motor but i don't know. I do know Corporate Harley is really cracking down on claims. My local dealer said corporate harley flew down to inspect a blown 131 and determined the owner was using Amsoil and voided the warranty.

Man no telling. I've heard good and bad for both, mines a kit and it's been great, i know a guy with a crate in a 20' street glide and his runs great also. 🤷🏼‍♂️

I have my android phone hardwired for Android Auto, disabled phone calls from the bike, and have phone calls and intercom coming through my sena headset with music disabled Couple settings to change all from your phone and you're good

it's been a minute, but the guys that i knew of actually getting the crate said they had lifter issues, compression problems, i think gasket issues. the bigger problem is that if a motor had multiple issues (one guy i know of) they had to send the motor back to Wisconsin every time to get it tuned or fixed? like i said, it's been a minute so i'm a little fuzzy.

So if you buy a RGL 114ci and then swap it to a 131 crate ...you could technically use the 114 for a 2nd bike and doing that is cheaper than an rvo
