I wish I didn't have to post this video but my 2021 Chevy Silverado LT Trailboss 6.2 has left me stranded! This is a really unfortunate issue plaguing GM vehicles right now and unfortunately I was one of the unlucky ones! I will update y'all whenever they update me, really hoping this issue is resolved properly!

@KCBOBX by not shutting off half the motor. GM was actually pretty smart and they changed the way it works. It's a variable V4 which means that it doesn't just fire the same 4 cylinders, it still fires all the cylinders it's just half as much. The effective result is that you just have the engine firing half as much, but you still need to maintain the RPM which is. So by using that stored energy to keep it rotating at the same speed, but firing less, you get a better gas milage. Edit: typo

Same. 05 suburban with 217k on it. I love this generation of Chevy; enough to make it luxurious without going over the top, easy as hell to repair and parts are widely available. The only flaw is the 4l60e....but in my experience, rebuild it once and you'll never have a problem again. I doubt I'll ever buy a newer vehicle. I paid $6k for my suburban in 2018. I can't justify the cost of new vehicles when mine rubs perfectly fine. I just see more things that can break on new cars.

I work at a busy travel stop outside Phoenix and I can say that probably every day there's a newer truck broke down in our parking lot waiting for a tow. I noticed that most the vehicles that are broke down or being worked on in our lot are newer. I bought a 98 ford crown Vic police interceptor with 125,000 miles and that thing hasn't failed me one bit since I bought it. I tell people their better off buying something older and throwing a rebuilt engine in it if needed than to buy something new these days.

I have '19 LT (new style) with over 57K miles and luckily have had no major issues. My truck has the Borla Type-S cat-back exhaust, K&M cold air intake. Only recurring minor issue (for now) is the sudden jerking in low gear which is attributed to the 8L90 transmission. This issue has been occuring since before the factory warranty had expired, but the dealer cannot mover forward unless there is a service bulletin that will allow GM to cover the cost. Fortunately I have an extended warranty up to 120K miles. I received the Pulsar LT and will install today and hopefully see positive changes from my engine. Trucks have truly come a long way. I also have a '90 S-10 with179K miles with orginal motor and transmission and spend about $4k to get it up and running. FYI still running the same transmissino oil for the past 30 years and she purrs like a kitten

First of all, I just want to inform you that I live in Bangkok, Thailand, so the GM products in the Asia/Pacific Region where I am may not be exactly the same as what is sold in North America. Having said that, what I use is a GM vehicle under the Chevrolet badge. We have a Chevrolet Trailblazer, 2015. This is essentially a modified Chevrolet Colorado to create a station wagon, or SUV body-on-frame of the compact size. The engine is a 2.8L Duramax Diesel unit with a turbo charger, putting out 200hp and 500Nm of torque. We use it in town, driving less than 7000km per month, with about 4-5 trips a year to the beach, meaning around 650km per trip (to and fro). After using the vehicle for only 3 years, we had some issues with the engine. At the dealership/garage, they informed us that the turbo body was cracked and needed replacement immediately. My wife informed me of this at the time and I was shocked! I thought that such a major repair should be at least 10 years down the road with the low mileage we have on it. The good news was that the vehicle was still under warranty, so they changed it for us free of charge. They however informed my wife that had we had to pay for the new turbo charger, it would've costed us 37,000 Baht or about 1,100 USDs. We have had the vehicle for nearly 6 years to date and have not had any other major issues with it. Despite not having anymore issues with our Trailblazer, we are not going to buy another GM vehicle not only because GM had just pulled out of the Thai market last year, but also because we still believe we shouldn't have had any major engine problems with the vehicle at all that early on with the otherwise new truck. From now on we will be looking at Toyota just to rid ourselves of any unjustifiable mechanical worries in the future. PS: GM had not completely pulled out of the Thai market yet as they have GM auto parts company which are importing parts for sale to showrooms/garages that are still servicing GM vehicles in the country for at least another 10 years. I also heard of Delco working with local investors in setting up Delco service centers that will service GM and other makes as well. Possibly, some time in the future GM will be back in the Asia/Pacific Region.

Its pretty much every GM V8 from 2014 and up, most of the time the engine has to be pulled out to change the camshaft, sometimes your lucky and only have to remove the cylinder heads. There is a thing where people have made a tool to unstick the lifter but I did that on one and it didn’t last a month.
