3:08 for the steering rack bolts, the heads are marked. The old one is marked "I" which is a Class 6T bolt, while the new one is marked "10", which is a Class 10T bolt. Steering Link Assy spec by the repair manual: 98ft*lbf. However, the old bolt was 6T class and that means M14 flanged bolt are meant for applications with a lower 90ft*lbf. The new bolt is double that, allowing for 180ft*lbf with the new bolts (obviously the spec is still 98). Considering the length of this bolt, I think this might give the steering rack more consistency when pushing the car.

This is fascinating & reminds me of when MythBusters put heavy clay all over the body of a car & cut out dimples from it like a golf ball has. The car got much better fuel economy due to the aerodynamic impact of the dimples even though hundreds of pounds of clay was added.

This is probably a dumb question but how did you get only the one corner of the bumper off with out taking the whole thing off? I recently hit a deer and it misaligned my bumper and cracked the plastic mount in the corner for my headlight. Both can be fixed quite cheap I was just waiting to get the car on a lift to take off the front bumper, but seeing how you took off only the corner I feel I can fix it sooner. I tried pulling on the side to pop the clip but I'm not sure if there's screws or something I'd have to also take off.
@KenGushiMotorsports11 ай бұрын
The side will pop off quite easy if you undo the two clips by the wheel well duct, and the bottom clips!

@KenGushiMotorsports11 ай бұрын
I’m sure everything adds up. I’m sure opening up the front duct cover makes a difference with or without the updated ducting. But the Chief engineer told me because the Circuit Edition comes with a rear spoiler, CFD data showed better performance with the front duct closed shut

It takes 30+ minute hot lapping sessions in high ambient temperatures for the diff to overheat on thie car. It's really not a big issue. Unlike the Focus RS that does two hot laps on R comps and becomes an overweight ST.

It’s funny, now that the dust has settled on the CTR and GR Corolla hype, I find myself gravitating more towards the GR Corolla when at first I was all about the CTR. Whenever I watch CTR reviews though, the person driving the car mouth says one thing, but what I can VISIBLY see is a horrible ride. Couple that with Honda lying about their Nurburgring time and overall, the car just takes itself way too seriously. Then there’s the GR Corolla which is flawed in its own right (usable space), but overall it comes across as a true hot hatch. Manual handbrake, AWD, an interior that functional but not fancy, and a charming personality. CTR, why so serious?

@@KN-jw7ts you can see the bolt heads are different, more rounded around the corners and lower profile. Since the bolts stick out from the bottom of the car, it probably helps with aero on the underbody.
