I don’t do temperature blankets because I live in the southern US and the it’s in the 80s, 90s and 100+ from April to November and I don’t want to work on a growing BLANKET when it’s that hot. I’m at the part of the video where you are saying August was “pretty warm” and it never got hot enough for you to use a color for the 80s and I am just on the verge of tears. Your whole year is a the month of March and part of April for us, you have lovely spring weather for most of the year. Why do I live here? What did I do in a past life that I have to live where the weather is so horrible?? This is why I don’t commemorate this awful climate in a blanket. I would rather just forget 😢

RIP for all of those ends! I have been weaving in ends this whole video

You live and you learn, babygirl❤❤❤. I did this same thing TWICE! I almost messed up making a temperate blanket my 1st biggest project in 2022. Then again in 2024, I bought so much yarn and spent…. Weeks working and it’s just sitting in a bin. 😂 between elbow/wrist pain, and my 2 kids- some things just become so tedious it’s no longer fun. If that makes sense.

With the Celsius vs Fahrenheit thing you could just do it in 5’s/10’s up until the max temp of the previous year. (In Celsius) i have -10, -5, 0, 5, 10, 15, 20, 25, 30 & 35+ here because it doesn’t get hotter than that. For the weaving in ends you could do an envelope border! You do a single crochet around the whole thing then use the back loops to do a 4-6 row border before using the front loops to do the same sized border and crocheting them together around all the ends

despite me only being about 9 minutes into this video, i wanted to go ahead and pop down into the comments to leave an idea i had (so i don’t forget it) !! :,3 SO!…. when you were discussing how you go about figuring out the colour key for the blanket @ the beginning (but especially around the 6:53 minute mark), i thought about how it might be pretty cool to try (some day, if u ever felt like it) using the same colours as they do on like, weather channels ?..!! >u> i’m not quite sure how to describe what i’m referring to, but it’s like… when they show a map of your local area and will have a colour key on screen + on the map to indicate certain temperatures (and for stuff like rainfall and whatnot)! hopefully this makes sense :,,] !

I totally understand what you are saying! That is a pretty cool idea!😊

Yes, this ^: somewhat match your colors to the NOAA temperature chart. Lots of them on Google. I've done that before and it's fun. I did single crochet with 4 weight yarn, one row per day. I intentionally made it wide enough to drape over a king size bed and the size turned out perfectly. Another idea that I want to try: Do half the row with the low temp and the other half with the high temp. Change between lows and highs on the hour of sunrise and sunset, so divide the width of your rows by 24 stitches. The hours of daylight will be your high temp and the hours of darkness will be your low temp. This makes for a cool curve in the middle of your blanket. I'm probably not explaining this very well but you should be able to find images of this concept online. I need to get going on my 2025 blanket. I plan on doing the moss stitch.

You guys both have really cool ideas - for the bi-colour one, noon and midnight would be neat, or even midnight, sunrise, noon, sunset, as a square for the day

It’s so weird to us over here in Australia hearing you say that 60F is hot! Last week we had one day 95F and averaging about 84F the rest! Our coldest day last year was about 54F. I am doing a temperature blanket this year!

I didn’t finish my 2022 temp blanket until October of 2023 so I decided not to do another one any time soon. It ended up looking very *interesting* so by the time I was done I just left all the ends out lol it adds to the chaos. I also only planned for it to be full size and it can fit a California king bed 😅

I can't make a temperature blanket because it'll just be like 3 colors all over because the average temperatures here are 80°F to 100°F + 😂 Only once did the temperature drop to 62°F in November, and then it just went back up again. There was a cold front, which is what caused the sudden drop.

This does seem like a project where, at least the way most people make them, it has to be done in Fahrenheit.

I am making a Storm warning flag granny square blanket i àm thinking it'll be a Year long project. Cause i want it to be the size for a twin bed. I am very small 4 foot 7 inches and 72 pounds so a twin size blanket is gonna take a while. What I'd do for a Year Dailey project is like a scarf but with 31 day's and do colors for every month like January blue February pink, March green, April a different green color may a pink , June a Yellow color or something fun yarns to make it easier

I kinda dont like that this is basically a what you made in 2024 video, instead of just about the temperature blanket, since you already made a what you crocheted in 2024 video so a lot of it is just a repetition

I will take that into account when i make next years video 😊
