I just think that the narrative will be on Embiid's side and if he stays healthy he will have another monster season. Also Shai will also probably have a better story as well as possibly 60+ wins, so I think the Mavs would need a top 3 seed at worst for Luka to win it and I just don't see that in their current roster. He will probably be the most deserving though unless Embiid plays like the start of last year.

Their current roster can definitely be a top 3 seed with the additions of Klay, Quentin Grimes, and Naji Marshall which improves the 3 point shooting, Lively’s second year improvement, and the fact that they will have even more continuity with PJ Washington and Daniel Gafford who were only acquired at the trade deadline and were able to make a finals run in 5 months of playing together. Barring any major injuries I don’t see how they won’t be a top 3 seed.

I don't think Luka will ever get his MVP. He's been balling ever since he came in to the league and keeps improving his stats every season. He had his most points, assist, and 2nd most rebounds per game, apart from leading his team to the finals last season, yet he's not given enough credit for it.

Edey is probably the most likely for ROY given what his role will be on a very good playoff level team. I think Reed will probably be the best player, but I'm with Rusty, idk that he'll get enough of an opportunity. I think a good dark horse will be Bub Carrington. He should get plenty of opportunity to put up numbers for Washington. I think he has a real chance to pop and get the numbers required for him to bring home the award.

Generally the best rookies are the ones that are going get the most minutes on the court. Not necessarily as starters, but just total cumulative playing time. That's not always the case, but the ones that play the most end up being the best after the All-Star break, if not before. If Zach Edey is the only rookie who is a starter, he will win Rookie of the Year.

The Rockets went from 22 wins to 41 adding Fred VanVleet and he’s elite in many advanced stats including 13th in estimated wins. His main weakness is rim finishing which lowers his FG% but other than that he’s very good. Reed Sheppard could eventually be better but likely not this year

Most improved is a weird award that rewards players for being worse in the past. I just started watching the video, so maybe this gets covered. That being said, as a Celtics fan who did not watch too much spurs basketball last season, watching wemby in the gold medal round he is going to be a major problem. He honestly just needs to put some weight on his frame and I don’t know how anyone stops him. He is so long it seems like being strong and keeping him from getting deep in the paint is the only way to slow him down. So long and he can move well it seems like if you let him get somewhat close to the bucket it’s cash. Plus he can shoot too. Imagine if he can add a post fade like dirk to his game with his length.

I think grizzlies will be in top 4 consistently this season and are a team to watch out for in playoffs. Most of these other guys are going to be playing behind guys who are currently better. All these guys have higher overall upside than edey, which can be debatable, but they aren't as in good of a position as Edey is in Memphis. He has no real competition at the center position to take his job or mins.

Actually, LaMelo has has 2 heathy seasons. Not one. His rookie year he was healthy and got 86% of the ROTY votes, winning against a scrub called Ant Edwards. His sophomore season he was also healthy and made the all star team (ant didn’t quite make the cut). Sure Lamelo has been hurt the past two seasons, but Ja was also out last season. Putting an injured/unavailable player as MIP is dumb, they the only thing improving is availability which isn’t in the spirit of the award. Unless Lamelo gets like top 5 in MVP voting, then that’s a big jump from being an all star. Giddey will will MIP and Wemby will get DPOY

Victor racked up almost 40 more steals and nearly 100 more blocks despite playing 500 less minutes. That gap has to be acknowledged. It’s not the mvp award. The best defender in the league is the best defender regardless of if their team is bad or not. And based on you bringing up the fact that no one has won it without making the playoffs, why did you pick victor for next season when the spurs have a legitimate chance of not making it again? Just makes it seem like gobert winning again this year was a mistake.

It's gonna be tough for him to start with CP3 there. Sure, he has the size to play the 2. But with cp3 and wemby, they are going to want guys who can spread the floor and can create more space for those 2. Castle is a terrible shooter. Either way, I think he is more of a PG and this will be more of a learning year for him.
