i work at h&m unfortunately, and we're getting an influx of skinny/straight jeans, fitted jackets, fitted cardigans so you're definitely on point there but i feel like due to the cycle of fashion we're going to also get a mixture of early to mid 2010's silhouettes mixed with the boxiness of the 60's and 70's fashion but obviously in a more modern way like you mentioned. In the spring/summer especially, I feel like the looks of sissy spacek (ex: her blue top mini white shorts and brown loafers with a white over the ankle sock look in Badlands) will make a comeback. your predictions are always accurate every year so i'm excited to see the looks you make from them 😊

You said something very important in this video that wasn’t about fashion but definitely opens up a discussion and makes one think (love how deep you are), but it was about not letting go of who you are for KZbin or changing things about yourself that people might see as a “flaw” Or as something to “overcome” when you’re really okay with being that way. It made me think about how I’m not naturally a “go getter” I’m not an “entrepreneur” type of person, and people often encourage me to be, but I’m fine not being that way, not everyone has to be! Anyways, loved the video and your thoughts! X

Listening to you predict these trends is hilarious because I remember so many youtubers I watched a few years ago (and still watch most of them now) who were certain anything fitted looked awful and was objectively bad. It just shows everything goes in and out of fashion and as long as the trend isn't too out-there it will always come back around. It would be nice if we got to a point where people just wear what they enjoy and suits them regardless of what 'fashion' says is trendy - it's on trend for you if you're going to get the wear out of it. Hopefully we're going more that way now... I will say one thing for trends and that's that they're useful for discovering aspects of your style that you hadn't explored before, which is where the fun comes in!

Predictions for my personal wardrobe: - my newly purchased second hand leather jacket will take over for my go to bomber jacket. - green and brown will dominate all season, except summer. - biker shorts and a big top all summer - summer will either be neon green/colors or beige. - feel ground shoes will replace most of my shoes - I will wear sweater vests more. - I will thrift the overalls of my dreams. - fishnet and tights as often as possible.

speaking of those a-line puffers, look at the puffer that lily rose depp was wearing behind the scenes on the nosferatu set! it was obviously to fit over her huge period costumes but it was like a gown silhouette in a puffer! i could definitely see that being in next winter

My trend prediction is that we're gradually gonna go vintage. By that I mean like Sabrina Carpenter with the big hair and the babydoll, vintage inspired looks.Which is why I really agree with you when you say the big buttons on those little coats or cardigans. And not just focused on one era for example for the more alternative person I feel like the 80s glam aesthetic will be back with the more fitted, leather pants and again the BIG hair. Or even a pixie cut like how you're rocking for a more sweet 50s/60s vibe. Esp when kitten heels and more "cutesy" shoes have been a thing lately with like capris. Idk I feel like I'm really seeing it sm lately, maybe again bcs of Sabrina and how popular she is rn but I really think that's the direction we're going towards.

I think the "Roxy girl" look will be in this summer. Surfer girl style- shell necklaces, board shorts, boy shorts. I see some Victorian influences coming back around this spring- long white skirts and dresses, lace, granny boots, blouses with pretty buttons, long gloves. I predict HATS will be trending as well.
@AlexHiderКүн бұрын
Ditto, I’m also seeing a lot of cutesy Victorian vibes
@eleanormcn3962Күн бұрын
I agree on Victorian influences but I think the "roxy girl" thing was in too recently -- like in 2019-2021 when everyone wore shell necklaces and tom's trunks. I think it will take a little longer to come back in but we'll see!
@le4905Күн бұрын
@eleanormcn3962 You may be right about that one. I remember the "vsco girl" aesthetic or something was pretty similar. I'm trying to remember all of the trends I followed in the late 90's in high school! There were so many good ones ☺️

1. I love the shade of green you used as the background to example images. 2. Mod chic is back! Fashion girlies in the past 10-15 years have cycled through our modern history of fashion. In 2012-2014, we were overtaken by peter pan collars and ModCloth outfits before moving onto 70's boho 2015-2017. Then, 80's outfits became big 2018-2020 (partially aided by the popularity of Stranger Things), before the 90's and Y2K blew up in the early 2020s. Even in the past few years, trends like "office siren" reflect the late 2000s. So we've cycled through our modern history of fashion and where do we go once we've completed that process? Do we restart? I'm thinking...yes. We are! Big buttons, swing coats, mary janes, shift dresses, oversized glasses & sunglasses, all the mod chic fun. I would not be surprised if in 3-4 years we move into the 70s again, but in a new way that reinvents the decade's defining styles. Plus, this is not to say that fashion in the past 10-15 years hasn't enjoyed trends from other time periods or created ideas of its own. I'm just pointing out that our *general* trend cycle has followed the 1950's to 2010 almost exactly chronologically. Also, I don't want to act like I have some groundbreaking theory here, I just love talking about it. Now that we've moved through all those decades, I'm really excited to see what comes next. This is my favorite video to watch every year. Yay! Thanks for making it. I'm so excited to get to the thrift soon

I really hope you're right about the big buttons. I took a look at the new adidas runner, and it just seems really bad for Toronto winter, maybe in the spring, when they are fully out of stock, I'll be annoyed I didn't pick them up when I had a chance.

Now I want silver sneakers! I've been obsessed with silver clothes and accessories (as in things that are not the obvious silver jewelry) long before it became trendy in recent years. One of the only things I enjoy about 2010's fashion was the silver obsession.
@le49052 күн бұрын
I remember in the late 90's when silver was popular! I had silver ballet flats. The trendy eyeshadow colors (lip gloss and nail polish as well) were all silvery and metallic. I swear I can remember the exact Seventeen magazine spread! I wore silver pants to school and got compliments from the girls but was made fun of by the boys 😂 Back then silver clothing and shoes were called "futuristic". 2025 seems appropriate to bring it back!
