My $270 (8000 baht) A Month Hotel Room In Chiang Mai, Thailand - Smith Residence. The room itself was 7200 baht for the month. My water and power bill came to just under 800 baht for the month, which was less than I expected. The use of the pool and gym is $3.30 (100 baht) for the day, or $50 (1500 baht) for the month. I forgot to mention that wifi is 400 baht ($14) for the month.

Good Vid. Just returned from Chiang Mai. Good room and good location. I am happy you mentioned that you are also responsible for water and electricity when you rent a furnished apartment. Good Info.

I'm thinking of moving to CM for a year or two, maybe even retiring there. I've been researching places to stay, and this looks like the perfect place. I'll put it at the top of my list. Sounds like it's close to the night market, too! Thank you so much for posting.

Thanks for watching my video Neil. Yes it would be a great place to live - great food, nice people, cheap accommodation, and many facilities that we are used to in the west.

Enjoyed staying here as well. It's a bit more expensive these days but still an easy transition options for those new to Chiang Mai.

One of the better vids when you were outside, giving the perspective of where the hotel was at, and where things were in relation to you. Inside it was harder with that camera as everything seemed so close. I could stay there, and I especially liked the area where patrons could sit and have coffee, etc. Thanks

Nice Video, it is nice to know you can rent a place monthly for $300. with utilities. Can't do that in USA not even a flop hotel is that cheap in USA.

Yes the room did have A/C and I used it a couple of hours each day. I was at the back of the building so I didn't get as much sun which kept the room temperature down. The total of my power and water bill was under USD$30 for the month.

No worries poka513. You should seriously consider it for a time - nice place, nice people, and plenty of western facilities.

I guess that's an okay deal. I think I would prefer something with more of a view. Did you look around at any other places? I notice on the hotel's website that they want you to put up one month's rent as a security deposit. That sounds a little dicey. What is your recourse if they decide not to give it back? As a foreign tourist, you're probably not going to go out and hire a lawyer to sue them for it.

Usually in Chiang Mai a room like the one featured would cost Bt500 per day on a daily basis and power and water would be included. At Bt 7200 a month this works out at about Bt250 a day but you pay for power and water. Quite a good deal by Thai standards. There are lots of other OK deals like this in Chiang Mai some not as good but cheaper.

I'm surprised u have to pay for water and electricity in a hotel I have stayed in many Thai hotels on monthly rates and never had to pay for the utilities
@Jason63625
@Jason63625 8 жыл бұрын
+Stefan Lindbom hi Stefan, most monthly rentals I have looked at in Thailand you have to pay for water and electricity after your stay. I am assuming that it is included in your price because you probably stay in better accommodation and pay a little more than I do, so the utilities are already factored in.

This place is WAY overpriced. Current pricing is 14,000 baht for 30SM STUDIO and all the way up to 28,000 baht for larger rooms. The pricing is RIDICULOUS for the location. This is more like Nimman area prices and Nimman is way overpriced and is the most expensive area in Chiang Mai. Complete rip off. Prices should be 50% of what they ask. If you stay there you will be helping the inflation to rise in CM.
