I hope you enjoyed the video! What has been your experience with using different load boxes?

To me it’s almost impossible to play a gig without an attenuator of some kind anymore. I mean why not get the preamp saturation at a lower volume? I run a stereo rig with a couple bugera attenuators and they’re great

From what I've actually listened to on YT, the Suhr Load boxes have a very nice sound. About 5 days ago, the Sonic Drive Studio Channel posted a video about a good ISO Cab Box worth checking out.

I own the Ox, Suhr Reactive Load IR, Fryette PLIR, Fractal X-Load, and the Mesa Cab Clone Plus. All are great in their own ways but the Suhr is hands down my favorite. Good Video!

I've recently purchased the fryette. how is the Suhr better?
@PassionforTone20 күн бұрын
@@cerealkiller5688 I wouldn’t say it’s necessarily better; the Suhr just feels right for me personally. That said, I use the PLIR often as well-it’s excellent. Both are hooked up to my KHE switcher, each loaded with different IRs and it gets a lot of use as well.

@@PassionforTone Thanks! I've got the PS 100 and so far only use it for attenuation. I watched a bunch of video before purchasing so I was curious of your experience between the 2.

I had one of these. I liked it, but the stock IRs by Celestion sucked. The internal IR loader of the Suhr is really picky. Suhr do deliver a converting software. But in the end, I sold it and bought a Fryette Powerstation instead. But this lacks of a IR loader, so I bought a IR loading pedal.
@sebbo149622 күн бұрын
so you never tried the suhr with a IR loading pedal? wouldve been interesting how they compare
@Guitarjosii22 күн бұрын
@ Unfortunately not. The Suhr IR loader sounded pretty good. I wish they would sell it separately

Jordan - so can you tell a difference in tone and feel of the real amp/loadbox vs Fractal modeler?

Yes definitely

I'm interested in going with this set up for live and studio. What would you say is the major advantage to using the Suhr rather than something like the Two Notes Captor X? Does the Suhr sound better than the Two Notes?
@JordanSteele20 күн бұрын
That’s a good question. In my opinion the reactive load part of the Suhr is better. Making your amp reactive more naturally and therefore sounding better. But the captor x has a much more flexible IR portion which would potentially be very useful live.
@Manuel-Burnett20 күн бұрын
Thanks. I’m on the fence about going with something like the Suhr w/ Marshall DSL1 head vs Tonex One pedal.
@Manuel-Burnett20 күн бұрын
Never played a Tonex one, but it looks like it would be more fly-date friendly.
@JordanSteele20 күн бұрын
I haven’t tried one either but everyone says they’re great! I have been using the fractal fm3 live for the past few years and it’s been great for me. But the tonex is super small and portable and would at least be an incredible back up rig
@Manuel-Burnett18 күн бұрын
@@JordanSteele Would you say I could get similar results to yours by using a D.I. box after something like your Suhr RL-IR or Tonex, so that I could use the D.I. XLR out for a dry signal straight to interface channel 1, while also taking the 1/4-inch thru from the D.I. into some wet pedals, then plug the end of that chain into the 1/4-inch input on interface channel 2, for instance?
