I have a suggestion regarding bodyguards, not many tutorials out there but in DW4 you can unlock special bodyguard titles (on max level) that have their own element attacks. To unlock them you need to level up bodyguards using specific weapons for each level up. I personally have unlocked them using an online guide but it would be nice if there was a detailed tutorial out there on KZbin.

I remember grinding in DW4 XL on Lu Bu's legend stage. I'm glad my child self came across the best way to grind

That stage is so much fun. It would be nice to see it come back as a Challenge Mode option.

My grinding method is. Weapon level 1-4 The Yellow Turban Rebellion on Han Side on (Hard) Weapon level 4-7 The Yellow Turban Rebellion on Yellow Turban Side (Easy) Weapon level 7-9 The Yellow Turban Rebellion on Yellow Turban Side (Easy) or if your character is strong or you are good with the given character you on Hard for almost 20k EXP For Stats I use YI Ling too. For Best Items usaully I go Wu Zhang Plains on shu side. It looks easier :D

Thank you so much for this. I haven’t had much time to play these days but I remember getting stuck because I was too weak. I remember doing my first play through with Zhao Yun and getting decimated when I got to a battle where Lu Xun and Zhou Tai suddenly jump in and go to town in the battle. I knew I would have to grind and reattempt but I wasn’t sure where to start and hadn’t had a chance to come back, so this was extremely helpful!

Best place to grinding weapon exp is Yellow Turban Rebellions on Zhang Jiao side because u meet almost everyone in there - Zhao Yun, Liu Bei, Guan Yu, Gongsun Zan - Sun Jian, Huang Gai - Cao Cao, Xiahou Dun, Xiahou Yuan - Dong Zhuo, Hua Xiong, Lu Bu - Yuan Shao, Yan Liang, Wen Chou And 3 others unpopular officer i forgot the name Just play on Easy mode u can achieve from lvl 1 to lvl 6, don't go with normal cuz it's just the same as easy mode Pick hard mode if u have skill to beat the stage and it will get u to almost lvl 8 weapon experience

I didn't get into Musou until a few years ago and DW4+XL is my favorite and most played so far

Thank you for the video! I've been replaying dynasty warriors 5 XL recently. I really wish we could get a remake, there's nothing quite like the destiny mode! Can't get enough of it! The Xtreme mode was fantastic too, something very special about dw 4 & 5 🥰

Thanks for sharing this with us, Chris! I think I like this series. What also helps me with my grind in DW4H is the Battle of He Fei stage (Wei side) since it provides plenty of stat increases and quite a lot of them are defense stat increases which I've found harder to get than the attack ones.

Glad you enjoying this russian official version :D Sadly there is no options for english text, only english speech... I love Lu Bu revolt as farming stage too - small map, lots of officers, easy locations of health/musou boosters =)

Xiao Qiao legend is really good for grinding attack and exp. Make sure you defeat the four starting enemy generals other than Cao Cao before beating Cao Cao for the fourth time. That way, they may reappear one more time each for extra exp and attack gains. They all drop attack +2 on easy, +4 on normal, and +8 on hard

Dong Zhou's legend mode is good for grinding defense, most of the generals u fight are stratgeist types, which drop def.

he fei map is good for grinding defense. total 32 bonus def for player.

"DW4XL by itself is probably one of the most dissapointing releases". Funny you say that, because that was my first experience with old school Musou games, and suffice to say, I didn't have that much of a good time until I asked on the internet about it. I though the XL release included the vanilla game, and well, it kind of does, but you need the original disk to unlock it.

There are a handful of XLs that add a decent amount of content where they can stand alone and still be a good time. DW4XL is not one of them.

i like char fast animation attack like da qiao, ssx, machao, diao chan.... with 5 item ( attack, def, speed, range item and luck item )+ orb lighting or ice... my combo square x1,2,3 and run.. repeat again

There's just something in this old ps2 sort of graphics (old graphics) that I always get back into, I think it's the atmosphere and simplicity of almost everything, yet so much content to enjoy if you really have the patience that is. For me I'm morelike of a SW fan but I played DW5 to 8, but I'm really looking forward to play this entry one of these days, I'll try to take note of all your tips in this video but honestly I just wanna play this game as it is, I want to be surprised and be amazed by it, Once I get the chance.

I would definitely recommend saving this for grinding after you've completed the story and just want to max out the characters you didn't use. Hope you enjoy it!

I am actually want general's horse models like in DW4 or how they add them as lvl5 horse in DW6. All this shiny golden trinkets with purple feathers or coloured fur meaning that this steed riding general and not just peon. I really hope for such models at least in Empire series. About TGS by the way...I guess no DW or SW only some game by fate universe. Pure disapointing((
