Hey Cory, I have to admit. I do enjoy digging in to see why people did things they way they did. There is usually a reason.

Brittle paint is the signature of the old Earl Scheib paint jobs. They baked the paint ... and I think - THINK, mind you ... they used enamel paints. They painted my S&H Gran Torino back in the day.

Tony told me the guy he bought it from painted it himself...maybe in his yard? It looks like the paint flashed, there is orange peel, runs, fog, smooth, rough spots. Bless his little pea pickin heart. He tried.

@@born_again_torinos Wow! Well ... at first blush, it's not bad ... but then, as you have been showing, all the little boo-boos start showing up under scrutiny! You'll fix it! You always do!
You may be on to something Brad. I've never used any JB Weld, but your link looks like it could be a possibility. Thank you.

Hi Steve, I just recently found your web page and youtube channel. This car has always been my dream car. I bought a green 74 torino with a modified 351Cleveland back in Aurora Colorado during my tech school at Lowry AFB. 1981. I never made it into a Starsky car as i loved the green color. I took it to the Philippines and had it redone there including interior after my buddy accidently wrecked it. The work they did you could never tell looking at it that it was in a wreck. I still look for it as i have had no luck finding the vin number, as my mother hasnt found old insurance paperwork on it yet or my old colorado license plate. Anyway i was wondering the time frame it takes you to start and complete your cars since you posted you build 3 a year? Do you do all work on torinos people already have or you find some and build them then sell them? Thanks for the time to read my post. Im saving to get me another one if i have no luck locating my first car too.

Hi There. I've had many factory green ones. I wonder if one of them was your old car. You did bring it back from the Philippines didn't you? Years ago I was cranking out 3 a year. As the years have been going by that has dwindled to one a year. These last two have been torinos I have done for other people. The rest I bought, starskyized them and then sold them. I'm always on the lookout for good candidates but that has gotten much harder and much more expensive. I have had to pass on buying several of them because they were too far gone, usually torinos from the north east. Since I'm on the west coast, I usually find pretty rust free cars with minor rust that is. I'm glad you found me, enjoy the videos and stay on the hunt for a good toriono.
