My 48 hour test drive of the 2023 Mustang Mach-E

A very good and fun review. Driving my Mach E GT Performance never gets old! It is so fun, the interior is such a good quality and the premium performance seats are so comfortable. Yes this is not a car for frequent long distance trips but it serves my commuting and leisure drive purposes.

I have a mach e with standard range battery and rear wheel drive. I live in New York. I’ve had it for over 1 1/2 years, aside from the range loss in cold weather it handles excellent. All wheel drive reduces the range of any of the batteries by about 15%. Since we only get heavy snow a couple of times a year, why lose range all year? I love my Mach e. It has about 14,000 miles on it. I can actually say it’s the best car I’ve ever owned. I’m 75, i’ve owned four top of the line Lincolns as well as many other great cars. None of them comes close to the 23 Mach e premium we now have. The key is to be able to charge at home on a level 2 charger. We’ve made a trip to Miami Florida, and Quebec Canada. No problems using the super chargers, although you have to factor in extra time for charging. The average charge at a super charger is about 30 minutes. With all the convenience and safety features, this is a great car!

The acceleration never gets old. Who cares what you're "supposed to like". Most people hate EVs because theyve either never driven one or dont have the money to afford one. Once you go EV, it's hard to go back to sluggish, expensive ICE vehicles. As for the sensor in the front, it doesnt slow the vehicle down if youre not looking at the road. It does read your eyes to make sure youre looking at the road but only when using blue cruise (hands free driving). Blue cruise is currently better than teslas auto pilot. You really really really need to get on a freeway and try it out. It is flawless!!

I gotta be honest ive been a car enthusiast since i was a child and ive owned several muscle cars and sports cars in my life including mustangs, camaros, corvettes, civic type r, even a shelby GT500 and i test drove a Mach E GT Rallye and i ended up getting it and i love it! Its as fast 0-60 as my corvette and shelby were and handles just as good! I think electric cars are only going to get better and more efficient and fun to drive as time goes on!

How to open the doors if battery too low?

It's in drivers manual as well as not being a concern as all those electronics still run off the 12V battery. If that one is low, you'd be having issues getting into the car in the first place and that battery gets recharged by the main, high voltage battery. Also the app will send you notification if your 12V is low on charge. Welcome to 2023 :)

In October, 2023, I purchased a Ford Mustang Mach-E GT Performance extended range EV. The decision included a test drive of a 2023 Tesla Model Y. Although the M3 was incredible, the comfort level between the two vehicles was no comparison. Hence, the GT is in my garage. I was pleasantly surprised with the Mustang's quality inside and out. The large touchscreen display offers so many options that it is very easy to get immersed for hours. I learn so many new things about the vehicle every day - it is actually quite daunting. Suffice to say, the Mach-E is a terrific, pleasant surprise; the only negative is having to work with an ill-informed Ford salesman and an even less-informed finance manager. Obviously, Ford does not want to sell electric vehicles, and their staff makes that very clear. They have a serious dilemma: asking the sales staff to sell ICE vehicles while simultaneously selling their EVs.

Loved the video - very entertaining young man you have there! I was laughing at his excellent commentary! I’m a ‘Merican F-150 Lightning Owner and aside from some minor software things I believe they can (and will) improve on I can truly say I am thrilled with the Lightning - it has 580 Hp and 775 pound feet of torque so I am VERY familiar with that 0-60 in 3.8 seconds feeling you were demonstrating…nothing quite like it!

If you think that’s fun and I’m with you, just bought a Mach E Premium, try a Ford Lightning. Having a large piece of aluminum and battery with 240v 30A AC plugs in the box jump around like a sports car is truly disconcerting 😂
