I love what you said about decision fatigue and getting dressed. I plan and set out my outfits for the week on Sunday. Turns out the decision of what to wear was enough to get me to not get out of bed.

I used to be a bit more organised with my Sunday reset and deciding my clothes for the week but lately Sunday is my “do anything I want” day 💃

This might be a silly question, but could you please tell me how to get the lovely pastel colours in your Google calendar? I can only access these really garish ones for some reason 😅

I'm planning the same way like you do and even use the same tools in a similar way. What I do differently though: I set myself a work block, and a private block (for cleaning, errands, ....) each day (which would correspnd to your deep work block). Then I go to my tasks in notion and order them by priority. It is not important to me to get all the tasks done but rather I work as long as the clock tells me to and when I stop I have at least finished or begun the most urgent ones. This makes me feel accomplished and calm. 😉

Yea I think that’s somewhat similar! Because I have a few different work commitments I have a few different blocks for each area. But then I sometimes mix personal and business when I’m doing shorter tasks like phone calls or emails. Mainly cos I hate doing those so it’s easier if I keep it in the same context!

I use mainly use notion for planning. Like you, I only write main events that are guaranteed. Personally I do like the to-do list but it is very flexible. There are a list of things to do and they are done throughout the day no particular order. And I track how long it takes for each activity so I can see how I am spending or wasting time. Lol. I like the errands list. Taking that one. I tried choosing my clothes before, but I always wake up and change my mind. Lol. So I just choose on mornings. Same for breakfast. Generally I know what I have in the fridge based on the weekend shopping, so I just eat something depending on my mood. Lunch and dinner are always set since they are meal prepped.

Hey, thanks for sharing! I love learning what other people do in their planning routines. I’ve become a bit more flexible with my food but I suppose what I try to plan now is when I’m going to eat (approximately) because it is something I’ve managed to forget to do in the past. And trying to be more consistent with 3 meal times a day. I like a to do list but rather I’d keep it as a master task list rather than things to do today. And yes the errands list is really useful (it’s just a different view of my notion master task list table) - I also have different contexts for stuff that can only be done in specific locations that I visit regularly e.g. my family home, the office etc.

I loved your video and your system! Did you stop using your daily planner?
@PhDandProductivity4 ай бұрын
Thank you ! I mostly use a daily planner when I’m feeling quite overwhelmed. I may start using it again because I enjoyed the ritual of it. However there’s parts of the layout I didn’t love so I’ve been working on my own design !
