Well I was completely wrong there and I hope there are plenty more like Matt out there (where exactly??) ! Matt has also restored my faith in humanity as clearly it's not just a business to him. Loved the snapshot of Prestige Wheels. A long time since I've lived in the UK, but the 'service provider' costs always sound like really good value. The only exception is 'mechanics.' Matt puts so much business their way, yet nearly always seems to end up paying top dollar.

This is due to most if not all costs being paid for by views. It's unusual for a dealer to do all the work needed as it would eat into profit. Matt can massively overspend almost every time as he recoups the cost from KZbin.

I’m with you Matt, that gem of a car is worth a lot more than £7,750 that you have spent. And that doesn’t include the premium fuel that you put in! Really nice S5. If it's anything like the Mk2 TT of the same era, the window regulators wouldn't be worn - the cables would be rusted and frayed (hence the crunching noise as the cables go around the pulleys) because Audi had the great idea of putting unprotected steel cables in the door where it's nice and damp.

Lovely car, great video. I love the sound of a V8 engine too. Here in London, you pay for the privilege of parking on the street you live on. Lambeth council charge you for the amount of emissiions your car gives out. BUT the car is parked. £237 a year to be able to park my BMW 520D MHT MSport on my road. I would love to own a V8 but the costs rocket to ridiculous prices. They are trying to get us out of our cars, and on to buses and trains which are packed or quite often not running.

Hi Matt, like yourself I spend way too much time window shopping on autotrader and the amount used car businesses your kind of size who put their cars up for sale dirty, unkept and in need of silly repairs which should have been done prior to the car being listed for sale just baffles me every time. Some of these examples are low miles, low owners, fsh etc but as soon as I see a mucky interior, minging wheels, number plates, body work etc it makes me never want to buy anything from them. Hats off to you as always for doing things properly. I'd rather pay a tad higher price for one of your cars than a lower price for an unkept example of the same car, especially as we often get to see the car on this channel first! Cheers, MB.

Hi Matt. Nice looking car, but it's made me think. You obviously use your local garage for servicing, but a lot of 'experts' will tell you that a car like this should only be touched by a dealer or marque specialist. What are your thoughts on this as both an owner and a dealer? What do you think if a car like this comes to you with a full history, but done by an independent? Is it worth less? My experience with main dealers is (generally) that they follow the schedule they're given by the manufacturer, whether it's the best option, or appropriate or not. Independent marque experts are fine, if you have access to one, but is it worth travelling? I have a trusted independent who is a mechanic (as opposed to a fitter) who understands the basics and deals with them appropriately, discussing the options with me. As a result, filters tend to be changed more regularly. Interested to hear your views. Thanks.
