Hey this is probably gonna get buried but I am an asia 4.2 player. in my prime i played for a rvl semi finals team so I wanted to give some advice 1st. Your positioning as a ws right now when they are receiving you are too close to the edges of the court and you are not dropped down enough. A lot of the time in high levels, players will ape mid or long, so its very difficult to help the defense if you are sitting short. In addition to this, 9 power dunks in pandora (the gap between wing spike and libero and a bit deeper in mid) is famously a very difficult to pick up, so you sitting deeper and further from the edge of the court will help to combat this. When a player hits in your spot, you can easily dive or reposition to pick it up. 2nd. a lot of the time you seem to already have decided where you are going to hit before the ball is even set to you, this is okay but it decreases your kill rate a lot against good teams. You should have in mind 5-6 spots that you are going to hit before the ball is set, then pick one to hit in the moment as you read the court. If your tempo is random and you keep in mind where the block is, scoring will become very easy. 3rd. not sure if you already do this, but when you are backrow a very easy to way get a lot more digs is to read your own teams block and fill in the gaps in it. 4th. positioning as a lib very small nitpick but when they have just recieved the ball you want to be mid - long and then run up to shorts just before the setter sets the ball. very easy way to dig more apes.

yo this comment is very helpful 🙏 i appreciate the advice! one thing im wondering, is how to counter deep cut quicks as well as reverse cuts if i'm dropped to cover pandora and X? i think the main reason my positioning is lacking is because i'm so mindful of the deep cut area, hence why i often drift haha (8:58 is a great example) so is it a matter of reading body language and reacting accordingly? also, when i have the oppertunity to communicate to the setter, i tell them to block quicks in order to combat the hard to reach spots. but besides that, i try to read the block and use it to help eliminate certain options and shot paths. and your criticism about my spiking mechanics is much needed, i was also recently told by a friend i had that habit/style of spiking too, and im now rethinking my strategy when i'm front row on the attack. once again thanks for the advice!

@@senessaxno worries, for deep cuts its very simple, spam t before the set is set and read the hitter as he jumps. if he is aiming deep cut you can very easily dive and pick it up from you position. Another way is to sit on x as the ball is set and then move back to pandora as the set is in mid air. hitting pandora on a quick ball os very hard to do consistently, so if you move back quick enough with sprint you should be able to cover.

​@@senessaxwell it's not really your spike placement, basically it's where you aim and when you need to aim there, because I notice you look at where your gonna aim before you hit the same spot regardless of the situation, altho I'm impressed with the improvements from when I last saw you, about your dive habit it's good but then even when the spike is aimed at your Diving, it would be good if you try to focus on receiving without diving for a while, cause diving is for spikes that are u reachable

@@sizzywizz_ hey its ok bro! spiking and receiving take time to master, and you should focus on the basics first, like the fundamentals. imo improvement isnt always about constant progress, its about sticking with it! even when it feels like youre not moving forward. plateaus and rabbit holes are part of the climb, but trust me, every rep counts 💯 stay patient and consistent, the breakthroughs will come, ill keep making tips videos and guides and hopefully they help as you keep playing 💯
