I want to just reemphasize for everyone watching!! YOU ARE BEAUTIFUL NO MATTER WHAT SHAPE OR SIZE, AGE, COLOR, ETC!!! The way I was chasing a certain “body” for gymnastics and acceptance was the reason for my downfall and all of my struggles. I know now that as an adult, even though I no longer have an ED, that mental health should always be your prioritiy~ If I knew then what I knew now, I would love myself for the person that I am and all that I do. Numbers on a scale and inches around the waist are soooo meaningless bro. Everything will be alright as long as you care for yourself~ I love you, and just like Bangtan says, LOVE YOURSELF ❤️

as a former gymnast as well, the whole weight check thing was just... terrible. i don’t think they realize how much that affects kids

I totally agree. As a former gymnast myself as well, so many coaches don’t think about what it does to the gymnasts at such a young age :(

gymnastics is a beautiful, brutal sport. But I would never change my childhood for anything; I think gymnastics taught me to be the person I am now!

I'm so proud of Sumi! Thanks for sharing your expierence. I grew up with so many insecurities about my size. It wasn't until I turned 19 that I cut myself a little slack. I'm still on a journey of becoming more healthy and accepting of myself, and this video really inspires me to do just that!

I feel like our stories are really similar. I've been heavy since I was maybe 7 years old and I would sneak food and binge eat etc. and my mum would always encourage dieting and weighing myself (which I've expressed to her that I don't like weighing myself) except I'm only at the point where I'm considering going vegan 😅
