thats the most homegrown parts store ive ever seen. Bricks and planks of wood for shelves, dark unlit aisles haha hell yea. That shop looks awesome, guy seems awesome.

Hard to find the old timey parts stores anymore. They were always the most helpful and knowledgeable people
@JeffBarker18 күн бұрын
Yeah that's like "Flags Auto parts" they specialized in hard to find parts and they finally closed the doors a few years ago. The big three are basically useless to me.

You need to buy that store because when the nice old fella passes it'll get sold for junk prices. Get together with some friends or start a go fund me or you will regret its sale. Genuine gold mine

i gotta tell ya man i miss the mom and pop stores. i would love to shop there some day. where i'm from we have 4 parts stores and walmart. typical cookie cutter american town. i hate it. i'm glad you were able to diagnose the problem and the truck sounds great. btw i'm still rolling on the floor with your santa character. lol
@MadsWorld3418 күн бұрын
i miss them old parts stores like that. a person could walk in and say i dont know what it is but its hooked to this thing and it turns something else.and that slids this other thing and the tires turn on the truck and he would go get the part. not anymore. if you dont have a vin or plate number they cant find tail light bulb if you have the part number on the part with you.
@MadsWorld3418 күн бұрын
if you work on cars long enough your going to miss something somewhere. my 2000 f150 i used every scanner from $39 to $12000 and it said my truck was running lean but it was so rich your eyes would water if you got close to it. i changed everything i knew to change plus everything the scanners said to change and it did the same thing. i gave up parked it for 5 months and said its time to park it behind the house. went out jumped it off and its ran great ever since. but since i dont know what i did to fix it i dont trust it anymore.

There was an auto parts store very similar to this where I grew up north of Detroit. They even had the cinder block, brick wood shelf system. It was in a huge building and had parts going back to the Model T. I loved going there as a kid and checking out all the interesting parts. It was awesome.

Used to be the World Headquarters for them & SPX. Now scattered elsewhere in the country & foreign locations, what a shame... Kool store, history & OEM parts, etc... Thanx !

Isaac I have been using and pulling and for years sold trailers and designed custom trailers for my customers and tires were the biggest problems people had and blow outs on trailers can be very dangerous the best thing to do is get the same size or if you have room get one size bigger and don’t use those trailer tires get the highest ply radials in a good brand and for the most part your problem solved but always make sure you check the pressure before you go and just do a quick walk around any time you stop good luck and stay safe

They are nice truck the only issue worth the truck I ever had was the guys that buy them,they keep them and never do anything with them. Or they put too much money into the truck and think they are gonna get 30k for a truck that only is worth 15k tops. I loved my 78,it was a 3 speed with inline 6,it just truck so good,it rode smooth then I sold it sold it to a guy that wasn't gonna keep it no it just wanted to resell it,without doing anything to it. The 47-54 truck guys if you need a part,forget about it, ,they sell each part $500 bucks and never sell anything. If I offend someone then your probably that type who do those things.

All it was was a fried wire,you do not see those old school auto parts stores anymore,you go to o'reillys or what we have in nj is auto zone and advanced auto parts,go up to the counter and give them the part number and they look it up on the computer and tell you its in stock and bring it out to the customer,ring it up and you're out the door,no more goin in the back looking for the part
