Man, you're one of the most relatable KZbinrs I've ever found. I'm also quiet, shy, awkward, and struggle with talking and feel self conscious about my voice. Just so filled with anxiety in every way. I had an experience that was way too similar to this too, to the point its eerie and yours makes me want to cry. Even had the similar instance of crying and being escorted away from the eyes of the customers, except they locked me in a closet until I calmed down. I never made it out the training month, and I've been terrified of working ever since, because I'm terrified of this same thing happening. Now I'm just working for myself as a growing artist. You're a big inspiration at this point even though I've only just found your channel in recent weeks.

I was a cashier and there were time when I was having trouble with something and had trouble understanding the steps. I felt so pressured about doing everything right. I was yelled at by the guy who interviewed me and the customer showed concerns that she said, "he shouldn't be treating you that way." I told her that it was my fault for doing it wrong but then she responded, "it wasn't your fault for struggling and it doesn't give him the right to be mean."

Also, about that one manager who almost *never* came in: how was she allowed to do that? From the way Wolfy framed it, it sounds like this manager was always at home for some reason. If anyone else never came in to work, they'd get fired eventually because well, they never show up.

I agree that a restaurant business is VERY stressful. My mom and step-father are in it and month's ago, they would always fight and argue about work which made me have a low self esteem because when I wanted to talk to one of them they were either mad or busy. They are still in the restaurant business but, they work at another restaurant and it's now less stressful for them. ^w^

I can actually relate to this a lot. When I get screamed at, I just end up crying and not able to talk cause of how upset I will be. This happens a lot to me when I also feel really overwhelmed and I feel like I'm breaking. But I'm glad that you left and that you were able to stay strong for so long!

I often come back to this video for different perspectives in a workplace. Fellow waiter here. For me, I learned that every time my supervisor has something to say about me and the things I do, such as asking before redirecting customers or try to introduce the special dishes myself, its actually him indirectly telling me the rules step by step so I can do better. You *literally* learn from your mistakes. :) To everyone reading this comment, take care of yourselves and never let others' negative impressions of you define who you are.

Sounds like an awful experience. I too have experienced bullying in some form or other, in almost every job I’ve had, so I could relate. I’m also a very quiet and non-confrontational person. I try not to let any of it get to me, but it’s hard. Right now things are fine, so I hope they stay that way.

I relate to this a lot. I worked at a restaurant for two weeks (they fired me because I wasn't fast enough, even though they barely trained me) and at Walmart for three years (I could write a trilogy about how bad that was). That restaurant staff was terrible to me. Always telling me I was slow, even though I was still learning. I got scolded for having an anxiety attack during the Saturday night dinner rush, and one waitress kept acting like I was stupid, even going so far as to grab me by the wrist and pull me over to explain something, as if I was a brain dead toddler. I regret not smacking her for grabbing me. Your story reminded me of my terrible work stories, and I'm happy you're out of there and away from those horrible people.

when i watched this, i went to ask my mother who worked at several bars and gave her a similar event as you, she said that she could scold the rude employee and tell her to #### off. And if i even have a friend who got something like what you encountered i would do a bit of muck raking and call out the managers, firing the rude and lazy employees, and the manager who was irresponsible to enter the restaurant. you did not deserve that punishment, they should be sued for what they done

This legitimately angered, me because I honestly can relate to you well I've never actually worked before I can tell you that getting yelled at being the quiet kid is very psychologically damaging, the shit happened to me a lot at school and I was never able to speak up for myself because of how shy I was, this is honestly one the biggest reasons as to why I hope I never have to work around people.

Me infinitely And here is a true story Mum and father were having an argument but father was being and I kid you not racist and sexist towards mum at this point I had enough marched all the way downstairs and WILL SMITHED the *%^# out of him knocking him to the ground I think I was 15 years old and he was 52 years I said to him and I kid you not again Keep your racism and sexism out of your f#^%ing mouth and I repeated it again There were a couple more fights some involving the police coming over and eventually father was kicked out of the house by court order and I’m glad he’s gone even though there is that he still cares about us yeah confusing anyways there were fights e.g mother and sister fights and at this point I would yell enough and try and stop the fights one time calling the police and mother had a bad childhood because of her former dad abusing her even though he still cared about her he died a few years ago and even when they met they fighting with each other for over 20 years and that’s my story

I'm so happy for you! ❤ I've been in two jobs that were like this and HR did not take my report of harassment in the workplace seriously. I knew that if it was not healthy for me, it was not worth working in an environment where it felt like everyone could put all their weight on me/expect me to pick up after them while they slacked off. That seemed like a toxic workplace for you, and in some cases workplaces like that would be shut down. It's not right to treat a fellow worker or employee like that because everyone else would rather not do their jobs like they are supposed to, or the managers don't give the proper training because one doesn't show up at all while the other focuses more on pleasing themselves over the functioning of the workplace. I wonder if customers stopped coming after hearing about how toxic some of your employees were to you after that day. But I am glad that you are in a better place now.
