Man, I love, love, love Buck 110 and 112s. Awesome Buck collection! I love the fact that Buck continues to make the classic 110/112 but continues to use the core design with more modern materials, etc. Pretty cool! Eventually, I'm going to buy a custom 110 or 112. Decisions, decisions!

Nice collection. Bought my first 110 I 1977 still have it. A few years ago I bought a couple from eBay and took the scales off I replaced one with snake wood that knife looks so nice saving it for my oldest grandson. The other I used olive wood looks just as nice. 3 three grandsons and possibly another on the way so at least one more to doo. It’s not hard to replace scales. It does void the warranty but to me the beauty is in the heirloom. I’ve got plenty of knives for working .

My dad bought one for me and my two brothers when we turned 21. I used mine at work and dropped it right on the tip from two stories high the first week i had it. I brought it into our machine shop at break time and had a guy reshape it for me at break time. Im now 51 1/2 years old. The case died on me but the knife is still going strong. The price went up a lot simce then...i think they were like $35 back then

@BaxtersBlades3 ай бұрын
Yes i do. If you click on my playlist and click Buck knives my videos are there. Ive gotta 112 custom in oak. A slim pro and a slim select. Also the 152 (112 fixed blade in ebony. Buck of the month April.) But i definatley have more 110s.
@casexx943 ай бұрын
So if only had $125ish for one…. Would you go with the micarta slim pro (?) or the aluminum/micarta sport?
@BaxtersBlades3 ай бұрын
They are very different in thickness.. Dont think you can find the micarta slim pro anymore. They do have the TRX in G10. So id pick the sport pro but they are $145 (got mine for $100 on sale) And got my slim pro for $89. I prefer my slim pro in the pocket for slimness. And prefer the sport pro for grip.
@Chevyv8man16 ай бұрын
Hey Andrew, Love your collection of 110s. I just picked up my 8th 110 and love it. I got the Elk with silver bolsters, polished blade, and pinned covers. I know you were saying you wanted a elk bone, do yourself a favor and get a polished blade and silver bolsters (frame) with yours. The finger prints are a bitch but you will definitely love it. I believe that the silver bolsters mixed with polished blade and Elk covers is so beautiful and just can't be beat. I only wished that Buck would sell a polished S30V blade but they don't and I won't be cutting anything with it anyway. LOL - I also have 2 112s but with my large hands I can't comfortably use them. I'll talk to you again. Later
@BaxtersBlades6 ай бұрын
Dang Chevy! You have 1 more than me!! Lol! I am for sure considering that combo! Ive had it in my cart a few times! I also wish they could polish the S30V Im not sure why they cant! Thank you for checking it out!

Alot of men carried the buck 110 everywhere everyday in its heyday but its time has passed and hardly any men carry one today. They might buy one but they will hardly ever carry one. Who would? It's bulky, heavy, doesn't have a pocket clip or a thumb stud. Its only still around mostly because of nostalgia. Its expensive now too, 60 to 70 dollars last time i checked. Let it go. Get the 110 lite if you need the 110, it's the same exact knife except has a lightweight handle. Fraction of the weight and Fraction of the price.
@BaxtersBlades9 күн бұрын
I disagree. But i am an old man. I have multiple 110s with thumb studs and pocket clips. And a slim which is great. But I still prefer the original. Buy what makes you happy. And thanks for watching.

The best Buck 110s were made prior to 1981, when they changed the quality of steel used for the blades. 440C steel is all around more durable. Harder. Holds an edge better, and passes all the tests with better scores. Since 1981, they've changed the steel to 425M, then 420C. Decent, but not like the 440C blades. Going even further back into Buck history, they actually made their blades from grinding and shaping old school steel files.
@BaxtersBlades16 күн бұрын
Ive got a 1972 to 1974 buck 110 amd yes the blade steel is much different. Though i havent had a problem with there newer 420HC. Thanks for the history!
