Adult Swim is something that no kid was ever supposed to watch but did watch anyway because it was there. Now as an adult, I want to watch all the shows that my kid mind didn't like now that, I'm a adult.

Actually same tho. Everyone else I watch feels like talking to older cousins who are nostalgic for 90s shit and barely know Danny phantom. I graduated '17, my middle brother is BHultras age. I don't think I've yet to see a video where something is mentioned that I don't at least *kinda* remember, if not deeply obsessed over as a kid. Even the creepy pasta stuff. We're the weird age where we got to experience the wild west internet as we came into full consciousness, and then slowly watched social media sanitize and algorithm-ify everything (not saying good or bad or "in my day", that's just what happened) Very glad I found this channel

I have a very vague memory from when I was like 7 or 8 in 2nd grade, and I was on the couch with my mom when Toonami came on, and I saw Shin Chan for the very first time. I don't know how long they aired Shin Chan, but that memory stuck with me for years until I finally tracked down all the Funimation episodes my senior year of high school. I wish Funimation did more gag dubs

I love how you describe your first experiences with adult swim. I think I was like 12 when I first saw Robot Chicken, and it absolutely HORRIFIED me at first. It was pretty much the first shock humor I saw. Some skits were not so raunchy. I immediately changed the channel but eventually I was fascinated by the raunchiness. Needless to say, shock humor has been mind-numbing ever since. I was maxed out young.

I grew up watching toonami. I remember they had a whole story with Tom. He started out as a little white bodied robot with a gut. Then, after stuff happened his body was destroyed, and he got the cool new body. They had a whole event where you went online and voted on rebuilding his ship. lol it was so dumb looking back. Gundam wing, Trigun, and DBZ were all on after I got out of school. I would go to my grandparents house after school and do my homework while it played. Simpler times. I miss the 90s

I remember also watching Adult Swim but need to clarify. I was a weird kid, with parents who thought it was funny that I was watching adult shows, and I've been naturally nocturnal for a long time. So I was actually almost exclusively an Adult Swim kid, so much so that on weekends my parents would turn it on FOR me and just let me stay up all night watching this crazy shit. The funniest thing looking back is that horror is my favorite genre so when the creepy transitions came up I'd get excited because they freaked me out, and it's a weird comfort. Once I get internet (on phone data rn) I plan on having marathons of these shows, but I hope I can find those creepy transitions again. I think this is the only time when my parents not caring enough to watch what I was doing ended up working out in my favor, and it definitely shaped my preferences drastically because now I'm a total vulgar dork who likes anime and likes jokes about messed up stuff. Very influential, which might be a bad thing. But also haha Robot Chicken and Cowboy Bebop go brrrr

Hey, I'm a 26 year old, and I didn't really grow up with adult swim although I do remember me on a couch, enjoying my samurai jack and the eds, until something live action shows up and that just meant time for bed. For me it was playing pokemon red/silver/ruby/fire-red on my GB(C/A). The GBC was a pain though without lights. Oh and this was the point that meda me leave a comment, it feels so weird having a 4 year younger guy, practically living my dream. You get to go online and just talk around a theme with just mentioning memories a lot. I do that whenever I have the floor

I remember a time before adult swim. I was in middle school when it started. My earliest memories of cartoon network were reruns of dexters lab and early episodes of powerpuff girls and that era of cartoons and I remember a show called cartoon planet that was sorta proto/kid friendly version of spaceghost and had spaceghost as the host along with brak, moltar, and the gang. I remember early toonami with the little spaceship flaying around. I do remember the all kids out of the pool bump and watching so much home movies cause that was the first show they would show every night, but I had to like go to bed so i couldn't stay up to watch more that for the longest time. I also remember toonami having something called the midnight run, which was also sorta like adult swim but was anime based. I do remember youtube poops being a thing before tim and eric but it was around the same time, and I wasn't a huge fan of the whole time and eric style of comedy. I wasn't a huge fan of xaviar, but me and a friend of mine would just endlessly quote bits from robot chicken and family guy when we were freshmen in highschool. I remember staying up for finals week in college and watching too many cooks for the first time.

Yeah my family also had a maid, and stuff. I also never had a romanticized relation with a person my parents paid to clean my quarters and or wipe my change. Ley us make Space lettuce and snap back to reality, 2008 ADS was dieing, nothing on deck could save it and contracts where bring moved to spread the turkey for harvest. When a man, a Bird man, showed up and did not enough, the block caught the Big C and we are left with The Brack Show. This was Timeless Times with Immortal Joe. Keep on doing things.

Dave Willis & Matt Maiellaro where amazing creators who found the funniest people with the most hilarious voices (themselves included). H.
