Great Job Lydia. I'm also self taught it took me 3-4 years to learn my aerial. I also worked really hard on it everyday! It took me years of begging but my parents finally let me get a trampoline so now I am learning new skills! This year has been a great year for me in gymnastics... because i have learned a back handspring, back tuck, aerial, front handspring, press handstand, back tuck on the trampoline and back handspring on trampoline, back half on trampoline and I am really close to my back full! You have worked so hard in gymnastics aswell and I feel everyday you are improving. Thx for whoever reads this... From Emily

The longer it takes you to get a skill means when you get the skill you wont be able to loose it the next day or the day after but when you learn a skill in one attempt you will most likely loose it by the next day Trust me i know this struggle I learned my round off backtuck after learning my round off backhand spring but the next day i got a mental block on it so i lost it then i got it back 3 days after And now i got my standing back tuck and round off back pike so ya never stop improving

Breland Locktin shared acc may have worked for you but just to tell everyone that isn't how aerials work you don't just take away your hands doing a cartwheel you'd face plant, you have to push super hard off your leg and go for height! :)
@jackpittser76788 жыл бұрын
Good job Lyd! One suggestion I would make is when your ready for your aerial (after running) you need to think about pushing off your front and back leg. In my aerials if you pause right before I do it it almost looks like I'm on my tippy toes. I think your thinking more about speed, which is also important, but if you want a good aerial start thinking about pushing off. Love you Lyd!

one thing that can improve your form: when you kick off from one foot, bring your chest as close as you can to it. push off really hard. this helps you spent more time in the aerial and land it easier. hope this helps!

hey Lydia, i read the description, i think you are still working on your press handstands and if you are i have something that may or may not help. i am also a self taught gymnast and i also want my press handstand, once you are able to press to a handstand from standing and you want to do it from the floor i have trouble getting onto my hands without my feet touching the floor so i got the thing you tie around your waist from a night gown and i tied each end to my feet then put the middle part over my head, if you do that it pulls your feet away from the floor and if you straddle i find it easier to stay on my hands and press up. i hope this helps Lydia, you inspire me as a self taught gymnast, i love you so much from wee Kelsea from Scotland xxx

She is good for self taught but she needs to get her back up at the end of freecartwheel / Ariel but it’s amazing for a self taught gymnast x

Dear Lydia, I know this was posted in like 2016 but I want to tell you that if their are haters you can like kick them off your channel. This is your channel. You are so great to be a self taught gymnast and you are inspiring. Haters going to you always break my heart 💔 You are amazing Lyd.

Does anyone have tips to doing an airel?
@charlienichelle6 жыл бұрын
Cathy Tuthill on ground: Run super fast and jump super high On trampoline: twist your body when your going into your Ariel Last: NEVER GIVE UP
@averygaitens.6 жыл бұрын
Charlie Nichelle Never EVER do an aerial on a trampoline because you could break your ankles. Also you shouldn’t jump really high because all your power will just go into the ground and then You’ll lose power. Just take a long, low hurdle

Avery Gaitens thank you for the information but I already have my Ariel from jumping 😂 but still thanks

I think when you do it off of a mat you sink into it and lose power, so I’d suggest trying to find a firmer surface that isn’t as hard as the ground but you can’t lose momentum on. You’re so inspiring and hard working. I think the amount of stuff you’ve taught yourself is incredible!!

You have inspired me so much! I have learned it on my trampoline and now attempting it on ground. I am so close! Thank you for inspring me!

I was re watching this video because I recently lost my Ariel and I am realizing that when I started doing “Ariel’s” I couldn’t land them and it was just frustrating and I even watched your Ariel tutorial and it helped a lot but at one point I just gave up but then I kept trying and then I got it so thank you Lydia for being so helpful to me and all the other people in gymnastics
