I always appreciate the diversity of your picks for year-end or in this case half-year-end albums. It's one of the reasons why I keep coming back to your channel because you are truly not restricted by genre boundaries. As a possible video idea I'd love to see your favourite songs of the year as a comparison and contrast to your albums. Oooh that's a good idea! I might do that, perhaps put together a little Spotify playlist as well to accompany it? What do you think? I've not heard of Wandering Oak and didn't even know that Chapel of Disease even had a new record out. Definitely agree on Ihsahn and Slimelord, both great records and if I wasn't working with Ihsahn then I definitely would have that in my back pocket as an AOTY!

Hahaha thanks so much! The decisions that we had to do on that were so inhumane but my god it was a lot of fun. I think I listened to 18 hours of Devin Townsend in prep for it. But appreciate the kind words, I would love to do another one so fingers crossed haha

Solid top three there my friend! I think that two of those will be close to my top 5 in the end of the year but you know what, I have heard a lot of people talking about Civerous but it just didn't quite land as much with me. Might have to give it another go!

My takes so far this year. Ihsahn. The Billy Morrison Project. Gatecreeper. Ingested. Blaze Bayley. Kerry King and most recently 200 Stab Wounds.

Oh sick! I'm with you there on Ihsahn, if I wasn't working it, it would definitely be in my top 5 for sure. Gatecreeper I've got on the stereo now actually, Kerry King was good but not THAT great for me, not got hooked on Blaze or Ingested and really love 2SW - solid list mate!

That's some solid Death Metal picks right there my friend. I do really like Necrot and Gatecreeper - I think that both of them might end up in my end of the year picks but there's still a HELL of a lot of good music coming haha

Ah that's cool man! I thought of doing the same but then I thought that there might be some cool albums that get dropped right at the end of the year and I wanted to give them their fair shake before they get crushed out by all of the others haha

I grew up with Green Day, so the new album was a bit of a nostalgic, fun block for me! It’s not my favourite of the year, though. I’ve also been enjoying the new albums by Dödsrit, Conifère and Rotting Christ.

Ahh see I just can't get into that Rotting Christ record. Like it's good but it just sounds like everything else they have done recently. I'm finding that a little bit with some of the bands out there at the moment - perhaps it might just be fatigue from my side of things but I'll give those other two a listen as well!

The Eclectic Tris xD I ain't listening to no Bilie Eilish album however good it may be but good for you haha When it comes to Green Day I recently discovered (this didn't use to be the case) that the only song I want to listen to from them is "Basket Case" I did check out the first track from the new record. It was ok, I'm glad they're doing well. My top shit this year is all metal all the time but some of it not very trve - Caligula's Horse, Myrath, Mega Colossus on one hand, with Aborted, Ten Ton Slug and Vulture on the other. A lot of great records have also received less than 4 spins from me which I hold as kind of a threshold for evaluating an album but I'm sure with time they would be in the "great" category - Noxis, In Vain, Trog, Vredehammer for example. Hahaha well that's what I love about music! Everyone has different tastes and different ideas of what is considered their thing right?! Billie Eilish is wicked though, I am really loving her album. Nice and peaceful. Oh awesome! I've not heard of Mega Colossus and haven't listened to Ten Ton Slug or Vulture either. I'll give them a listen, among all of the other stuff that's on the pile haha!
