Ok I know I’m super late to the party! That being ur channel but I am a fellow BLACK CLOTHES lover !!! I spent so many years as a kid, now being 31, absolutely obsessed the color black, but then something happened to me about six years ago, where I got tinted glasses for my migraines, and after that, it turned into a Robert Downey Jr. style obsession of getting a ridiculous amount of tinted glasses, and it caused me to wanna wear color, bright colors to match the glasses for the last five years! Then something happened in this last year where I noticed I was gaining weight and I was seeing pictures of myself and these bright colors and boy I did not like what I saw! And then about seven or eight months ago, I was cleaning out my closet of so many different shirts that I didn’t want anymore and I found my big black section of clothes just sitting there!! And it completely renewed and restored my obsession with black! Now i have completely re-organized my closet, put away a bunch of colored clothes and have gone from bright colors to black clothes or very, very very dark shades of blue, purple, green red burgundy, but I mean dark, dark with black in it as long as it has black in it! I am so very happy to find somebody that actually loves black clothes like I do. I am so happy to meet you and I can’t wait to see more of your videos that that I hope will be talking about more black clothes.!! if you happen to have an Instagram, I would love to follow you because I would love to talk to you more about fabrics styles, and get advice from you because my black clothes collection is growing fast!! Sincerely your fellow crow 🐦⬛, ROBERT

Wow you have some really cool pieces.. I started wearing all black at the start of 4th quarter of this year.. I like my black plain and simple but I like the challenge of styling all black.

Loved this video! As someone who also likes to dress a bit androgynous, I related greatly and I also like Y-3 and Yohji Yamamoto. Check out the mock neck long sleeves from Y-3 if you haven't already I think they're really chic 😊

Probably gray scale with some Color accents , beanie and shoes is a solid way to wear dark colours for ever, I personally love selvedge denim so to me dark blue selvedge jeans are pretty much a must

Hi Ben, always interesting to watch your videos. You can probably guess that I am quite a bit older, but your new look does come across as more mature and professional, at least in my mind. Be careful though because too much of one thing can push a person into a dark place and that is self destructive. As far as fabrics, i only wear cotton or wool because of how they feel and breathe, but I don't own any high end stuff either. The one downside is that it is very difficult for older drivers to see you in all black, especially at night or raining. So you will need to be much more cautious around cars and assume that they didn't see you vs before it was obvious. When I am wearing darker clothes, I wear a very light jacket to enhance visibility. Sorry for the long comment but I don't want you to get injured in the winter and darkness. Take care
@b3naqua11 ай бұрын
Thanks for your insight & concern! You make a really good point about night visibility. It's definitely something I consider, esp. when walking my dogs. I try to wear athletic pieces with reflective material at night - I even sewed a thin, all-reflective harness/vest thing for night walks. I agree to assume drivers can't see me at night, so I'm extra cautious! Wool/cotton/natural fibers seem to be the way to go, esp in hot areas like Texas. I've reduced the amount of synthetic fabrics a ton recently in my closet purge, focusing more on breathable & oversized cotton & linen pieces, since the climate here is super hot.

@@b3naqua The other night I saw a lady walking two dogs with led light collars. I actually saw them long before I saw her and she was right at an intersection. My eyes are pretty decent but she was dressed in dark clothing and there weren't any lights

@@b3naqua That’s a great question! I guess summer time inspired me to wear a splash of color here and there! Also because some color against black will pop a lot and bring a different vibe! But i always go for only one color with black.

Sending you love and hugs from Portland, Oregon!! 💜💜💜

@@b3naquaPrimarily my career transition from the service industry to healthcare after I obtained my master's degree. Seeing patients with severe health concerns while I'm dressed like a 00s hipster clown feels insensitive and tone deaf at best, so I try to show up to work looking "professional," but still in line with my personal style. Also, wearing mostly black helps me feel more confident with my almost 40 (!) year old dad bod lol!

@b3naqua I don't know, it's just feels right. LBD fits every occasion, all my clothes match. One year I was thinking of having other colors but I prefer monochromatic and I realized it's impossible to get the same shade next season because of the fashion trends. Back to black. When I was 18 someone said I always wear black so I bought an outfit in pink (shorts and top), other in white (jeans and jeans jacket). 😂 I have a "colorful" summer dress, black and white zebra. I look absolutely ridiculous in flowers and soft colors. I tried once and my mom and sister laughed 😂
