MY ALL TIME FAVORITE OLD SCHOOL QUICK DESSERT/OLD SCHOOL FRIED PIES/BLUEBERRY/PEACH

OLD SCHOOL FRIED PEACH PIES:
This is my recipe for something i grew up on,its simple and so easy
Here the simple recipe
Recipe
6-8 peaches ( sliced)
1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
24 oz pineapple juice or nectar
6 oz butter
1 tablespoons cinnamon
1 teaspoon nutmeg
2 oz cornstarch ( slurry)
OR YOU CAN USE 1 JAR OF OLD SCHOOL PEACH PRESERVES
1 package Pillsbury pie dough
Combine all ingredients ( except cornstarch)in pot and bring to a boil
Add cornstarch and let thicken
Simmer for 5 minutes
Cool completely
Cut pie dough into 5 in circles
Add 2 tablespoons of peach mixture in center of circles
Brush dough edges with beaten eggs
Fold over corner to corner and seal with fork
Fry in vegetable oil 15 minutes or until golden brown
ENJOY!!!

I love fried pies. We only had the peach ones when we were kids. My mom made them for us. She would cut those pears in half grease the outside and bake them. Persimmons were good if ripe. If you did not know, they were so sour.I still love figs to this day. Mulberries too.I am looking for your 1,000 on all the chanel's you desire.I enjoyed recently on you tube Dare to pray boldly- Joel Osteen. It really inspired me.

My elderly neighbor who became my granny (I never met my grandparents) made fried pies. They were so good. She also made hot water bread with cornmeal and fried in bacon grease to eat with beans or soup. I've forgotten how to make them. If you're familiar and know how, maybe you can feature that some day? Hey 👋🏾 chef. This is definitely a great throwback of what my late mom used to make us when we was little girls and boys i never forget this we all was running 🏃🏿‍♀️ 🏃🏿🏃🏿‍♀️🏃🏿 including our neighbors and kids up the street mom used to make them little bit smaller she would feed us and them about 20 kids we was sooooooo happy i never forget that and the kids parents would call mom thanking her for the treats they always used to say Mrs.Brown gave us this and that.😊😊 my parents loved used us as her own even the mailed man would bring us all birthday gifts and Xmas gifts to we had a really good childhood back in days... 👍🏽✌🏽😊❤️

Years ago, a little older lady used to come by the beauty shop selling those fried apple pies. I used to be so happy to see her because they were soooo good and delicious. I never thought about using preserves as a filling for fried pies. I’m in Tennessee and my grandma used to dry out her apples on a sheet of tin payed out on a dried up concrete minnow pond in her yard. So the only kind of fried pies I ever made was my nanny’s dried fried apple pies and biscuit dough pastry. My dad likes cherries…I think I will give this a try.

Absolutely correct about the Pillsbury Dough. I've used it for my Sweet Potato Pies and Pecan Pies. Pillsbury Dough is flawless, ALWAYS! Would you do a demo with Sweet Potato, Jambalaya and Pecan Pie Fillings? I knew a lady that made a few coins, selling these turnovers in Va, years ago. Thank you for your informative video.

Jambalaya? Interesting! I haven’t had or made a fried pie since I was in my teens. Mostly apple and peach is what the old ladies used to make, and it was either fresh or canned fillings depending on whether it was for home or for selling. One year mama’s DAR ladies all got together and rolled out SO many pies and fried them for their fundraiser at the county craft fair. There was a kitchen and living room full of us. I have a TON of jelly to use up. This will be almost too easy 😊

I agree Jennifer!! Amish fried pies are the best! I travel a lot and I love the Amish country. I'm from Michigan. Spent 3 days in Holmes county Ohio and enjoyed the food and homemade arts and crafts. I love also there pharmacy. I pick me up this ointment all the time for my arthritis. It's a blessing for that kind of ailment. I also love to see the families working together. Very close knitted.

My granny had an apple tree in her yard & used to make fried apple pies. It confused me when I was little & they called them pies because I’d say but they don’t look like this🥧😂.
