Yes!! They are easy to grow and do very well in a pot. Just keep it in a brightly lit location...but not in direct sun . Water but not too much and keep cutting the top trimmed so the bottom leaves grow in full. Good luck!!!

Every once & a while they may get in something unusual...but most are standard Wizard darks or Rainbow...... Kong varieties or Fingerpaints. Yes Unless May is warm....you must harden them and June is safe. The real magic happens in the sweltering Humidity of Summer.....

Hi Sharon...I have Empire Kongs, Kong Rose, Kong Red, Colossal Marble ( unusual) Jitters and Kong Scarlets left over. Im close to sold out...having only 8 Orders remaining . Kongs of all variety are my favorites and sell out at my Farmers market each year. They are very Colorful, the foliage especially the Empire can be very large but their color range is fabulous. Jitter are slender and can have great reds/ pink & green colors. Colossal Marble are Speckled large leaf unusual varieties as well. Thank you for your interest!! Regards Jim

When they arrive in the mail they will be in tubes....gently rolled and the roots are wrapped in a small spil ball in plastic. Just gently unwrap, place the rootball in a good quality Potting soil pot and before long you will have a beautiful Coleus!!

Great collection! How long did it take for the coleus plants in your hanging baskets to grow to the height shown in the video?

That video was filmed in Early June.....I usually make up the Hanging baskets about 6-8 weeks before using about three young Coleus plants. Once I get the Coleus into the hanging baskets and the Greenhouse heat & humidity sets in they really start to move..... I also use only Miracle grow Potting soil and timed release fertilizer pellets.

I use timed release Shake on general houseplant Fertilizer pellets. Coleus dont require alot of regular Fertilizer....but it does benefit the plant....so the Timed release works easiest

Wow your coleus are so colorful. I get dust on my coleus leaves. Their color changes when I do showering. Tell me plz what to do😣 Shouldn't I do showering on leaves? But if I don't do that, the leaves get very dull rough 😕

Coleus in general dont like to have their leaves misted or watered...but when it rains they get wet..... But that's natural Rain. Municipal and even Well water always has calcium or other chemicals in it that will remain on foliage after the water evaporates. If you only have a few plants you can gently wipe them down afterwards to prevent the spotting

Hi Sue...I am not sure which " Clear Cups" your referring to. But All of my Potted Coleus pots have drainage holes. Drainage is essential for Coleus otherwise the roots will rot.

Should I repot an overly watered coleus?

If you oversaturated a Coleus when watering you won't run the risk of killing it or the roots if your pot has drainage. That said ...Let it naturally dry out a few days then repot. Repotting saturated soil is a big mess and will just undo the sturdy root system.

@@London2362 Burpee are a TOP QUALITY seed company. The Giant Exhibition varieties are generally the large leaf, varieties...Kong, Japanese Giant etc...as opposed to the smaller trailing types. Most Coleus are good for both large containers, pots and hanging baskets. The Jitters variety are perfect in hanging baskets fyi

DanielWalkure7 I seeded my Coleus over 2 month period....1 tray December, and the other two mid January and Early February ....So I can keep up with care.....But just remember that some Coleus are naturally smaller....I have smaller Kongs as well as some that are Jumbo. Also some of the really tiny Coleus started off in poor soil....I subsequently transplanted them into Miracle Grow Potting mix...which I recommend and from now on will ALWAYS use as opposed to the cheaper dollar store mix which is terrible for growing

That is in the Kong family...its called a KONG SCARLET . Most of the time they are included in most store bought "WIZARD MIX" COLEUS variety seed packs.

It's not MAGIC!!! Really.... In general the larger the Pot .....the larger the Coleus will grow.....with a few other factors.... Weather, Heat , Humidity and water conditions..... Potting soil quality/ Nutrients in soil. Now this may seem complicated...but it's not. Here in NJ as we enter Summer....Heat, Humidity and decent rainfall conditions make for these larger Coleus. Inside my Greenhouse..... I keep the interior properly shaded from sustained direct sunlight....well ventilated with a fan...and the plants well watered. On the most humid, sticky hot days and nights I keep the door and vent windows open.....letting the humidity do its magic. I also swear by Miracle grow water soluble plant food in the green box.... Every two weeks..... Check out my videos....There is no reason why You cant grow Huge Coleus as well !!!

Ive found through the years that a few of my Kong and Jitters Coleus...NOT ALL have developed an exceptionally Bright Red or deep Pink Color which really stand out... The Photos seem to enhance them even more..but they are as Beautifully eyecatching in person!!! I know of no Coleus with actual FLOURESCENT genetics

Just be careful if planting your overwintered Cutting/ Rootings outdoors. If in pots....remember to Harden them a fee hours outdoor exposure each day for about 2 weeks longer each day then they can be placed outdoors permanently..them they will be used to the outdoors

Hello Triscia. There are HUNDREDS OF COLEUS out there and each year new patented hybrids created. I grow non patented legal to propagate Coleus.....which means I can harvest the seeds and regrow them.... Anyway these are the most common Coleus in the "Rainbow mix " family.... I'll give you the names and Google search them to match them up. KONG COLEUS, JITTERS, WIZARD, KALEIDOSCOPE, BLACK STOCKINGS, SATURN, DEFIANCE,Painted Nettle. Other mixes I may have include some from the "Wizard mix" which are usually darker colors or plain green .
