I want to address the comments asking if I've had Botox, fillers, etc. so people can have the truth. I've never gotten anything done to my face. I don't judge anybody if that's the route they choose, but I chose to use topical treatment because I want to be in control of my own face and, also, it's not desirable to me to inject my face with stuff. I like my face the way it is. As for my lack of facial expression, I'm still getting used to filming myself, so that's a part of it. And being an extreme introvert, coupled with my reserved nature, and the fact that in my day to day life I'm teaching meditation & yoga, as well as providing hospice care (these are my occupations), my face looks the way it looks. What I'm trying to say is that we wear our lives on our faces. Everyone does. And I've never been a bubbly, over-animated person, so it would come across extremely artificial if I faked a persona that isn't who I am. Additionally, tretinoin imparts a "pulling" (tightening/firming) effect on the skin, which, is both good and bad. Yes, it makes the complexion appear flawless, but there are definite downsides. I can't open my mouth too widely, or I start to peel immediately, for example. The skin, before it peels (mine peels every day), becomes very tight, and taut, and tightly pulled skin looks ultra smooth and shiny, and then it sort of "cracks" (mine does anyway), starts to flake, and then peels away. New fresh skin is then revealed. This is the mechanism of Retin-A. Ultimately, I take it as a compliment and a testament to the power of this product, if people simply "can't believe" I've achieved my skin with the use of topical cream alone. That people believe me or don't believe me doesn't change the truth, and beyond what I've said here, I can't do much else. It's not my concern to convince anyone of anything. But I did want to address this, since I see numerous comments asking, speculating, and accusing me of not being honest. I have no problem being clear and upfront. This is who I am. I must add, too, for those who have asked tactfully - thank you, by the way. Happy holidays everyone.

_I'm Glad she mentioned in the Video not to apply the RetinA right after cleansing unless you've been using it for a while._ Do Not apply RetinA on damp skin when you're a Newbie Or just starting back using it again. You have to wait at least 25min after you Cleanse your face. IF NOT *_you'll experience Redness, Irritation, Peeling and Blisters._* She's been using RetinA for 15yrs and has built up her skin's Tolerence for it so it's easy for her to use it on damp skin without experiencing any Harsh side effects.

I've been putting 100% pure castor oil IN my actual eyes every night when I go to sleep for two years and it has whitened and brightened the whites of my eyes. It has also reduced eye strain and chronic eye pain. It has also helped make my eyes naturally more moist over time. I used to have extremely veiny bloodshot eyes! Castor oil has made all the difference, it is a godsend! It has helped improve my eyes SO MUCH. ALSO, my eyelashes and eyebrows have become A LOT thicker, darker and longer over time aswell. Castor oil also has anti-ageing properties because it repairs and rejuvenates the cells in your skin. I LOVE castor oil so much! It's my miracle oil! Make sure the castor oil you use is: 1) Cold-pressed 2) Hexane-free 3) 100% pure and vegan!!! I use the 240ml Ecla Castor oil from Amazon! fyi.

My lashes before were very average-neither particularly short nor long. They’re crazy long now, though. As for the tretinoin, I started very modestly applying it every third night for a couple of weeks, increasing to every other night, and eventually nightly (after about 8 weeks). Thereafter, I consistently applied it for 16 weeks.. then I started applying it around my eyes, but only once a week. I did that for months. Then I increased the around my eyes and mouth like that in the same way. Eventually the skin gets very comfortable (I was able to tell). It comes with consistency and patience. I’ve been using this product for 15 years ...definitely I wouldn’t advise anyone to go full force with it right away. If your skin reacts, always dial it back and start slowly again.

My lashes were very average before; nothing like they are now. Castor oil has made them crazy long and dense. I acclimated my skin to tretinoin gradually by starting every other night until my skin could handle increasing the amount and frequency. Everyone's skin is different, so the timeline for treatment and application will vary individually based on many factors. I've done an update video where I discuss tips for beginners. You can find that video on my channel, as well as linked in the description box.

I have been caring for my skin since I was 12, and I started anti-aging (tretinoin) product at 21, 22 years old. My uncle is a dermatologist and he and my auntie were looking ahead for their niece (me) and wanted me to enjoy beautiful skin in my adulthood, so they got me started when I was a young adult. I have been cleansing properly and wearing daily SPF protection plus wide brimmed hats and gloves to protect from sun since I was 12 years old. Koreans are very forward thinking, and future oriented as a culture. In my opinion, preventative measures (like wearing sunscreen and sun protective clothing) -- it's never too early to start those habits. It's a major reason I've preserved my skin like I have; because I've been doing these habits pretty much all my life (with the exception of Retin-A which I started in my early 20s).

Your lashes or a beautiful, they sort of have a star shape. Does the castor oil burn your eyes? Now, since you mention that your face feels very tight with retin A and it cracks sometimes I think I might know what the problem is, even though you didn't ask me. First, you've got the hyaluronic acid which will boost the hydration in your face and you have the emollients but you're putting the Retin-A on too quickly, the face should dry first. And I think even though you have the emollients, and the hyaluronic acid you probably need to use the CeraVe p.m. over the entire face to seal all of that good moisture in after. In fact putting the moisturizer on first might help a lot, meaning apply it before the Retin-A. I don't know if you have dry or oily skin but your Retin-A looks like a gel which generally works better with oily skin and the cream form works better with dry skin. Just trying to help with the irritation and flaking and peeling that you still seem to be getting after 15 years. Your skin looks Flawless though! Merry Christmas!

@JenniferMyers
@JenniferMyers 4 жыл бұрын
Apply once per week just starting out, very judiciously. And see how your skin reacts, first. Then after a couple of weeks you may increase to every third night, and eventually every other night, then nightly. But your skin will "tell" you...I was constantly assessing the state of my skin and gauging what it could (or could not) handle, and I would act accordingly. Since everyone's skin is different, that's they best advice I can give.

I’ve been prescribed .05% Trentinion for the first time a few months ago, and I squirt out probably about 2-3x the amount you used all over my face about 3x a week.. I’ve had no irritation or dryness at all. I’m not sure what’s going on my skin on a cellular level. I hope it’s working . I’m so confused at why this has not been others’ experience? I recently asked the dermatologist for a Rx for the next strength up. I’ll see if it does anything.

Jennifer, have been a silently watching you and today i just want to say how beautifully long your eye lashes are. I didn't know you can put castor oil straight onto face and lashes. Thank you for inspiring me to start tretinoin. I have been using retinol, retinaldehyde and also backuchiol for many years (not all at the same time) so when I started tretinoin, my skin's kinda ok with it. I do my chest, shoulders, upper arms and neck too! Using retinol and other goodies like niacinamide and allantoin, placental protein, peptides and ceramides, arginine and vitamin c, etc these all benefit my skin on those areas too.Besides actives I also loves to treat my skin with humectants like glycerin and sodium hyaluronate/hyaluronic acid or hydrolyzed collagen. I’ve done this for a few years now and boy, am I smooth! I’m actually very proud as well as grateful for my skins texture and appearance. I definitely have both worked for this but I also have some sort of genetic advantage. I haven’t always been that good to my body; I have struggled with eating disorders since I was a child and I also am addicted to opiates and have been all my life. Though I’m not abusing anymore I do have been prescribed methadone as a lifelong medication for my addiction. So when you know that, looking as fresh and smooth and plump as I do at the age of forty two, forty three - that’s kinda amazing. I’m living my best skin life as a middle aged woman ✨😌✨ But on the other hand, I think we all have histories and life journeys that should be taken in consideration, and when we do that, we see that we are absolutely amazing and life in itself is a wonderful thing. Take care people and live your best life, every day! 🌸🦋💗 I just started massaging my castor oil, that I use for my hair, into my lower eyelashes and eyebrows. My upper eyelashes have lash extensions so right now there’s not much that I can do. This is going to be interesting. I’m going to buy another bottle of castor oil as soon as possible, though, because the oil that I use for my hair isn’t just pure castor oil but it has fragrance and whatnot in it. So in a week or a few days I’ll have a pure castor oil for my lashes and under eye.

@@aishaharrison3322 I actually went to the dermat and got the right advice so I maybe able to help with any of your queries. Tretinoin is great at night as your skin isn't exposed to dust or pollution and the skin is relaxed. Since you're using tretinoin it is extremely important to use sunscreen (even if your indoors and not exposed to the sun). You may Google the importance of using sunscreen while on tretinoin. Mix an equal amount of tretinoin and moisturizer at night. I wash my face with face wash that has glycolic acid in it. That helps with faster peeling as it sheds the dead skin cells and promotes new skin growth and makes your scars lighter. I use that at morning and night. And for me in the morning it's purely using sunscreen till evening 8pm. And then again facewash followed up tretoin and moisturizer.

It's been a month now and I started to see results. Will keep on going after 3 months I will go 0.05. ❤️

Hey Jennifer, really like your channel and your down to earth personality! I was wondering what other products you might recommend for people who don’t live in the US and cant get their hands on tretinoin! Your skin is gorg love! Thanks

I am not kidding, YOU ARE FREAKING BEAUTIFUL IN MY EYES, I don't know why but I have never seen a PERFECT example of beautiful skin or face that hits me, but after seeing you, you are going to be my inspiration, the amount of care you give to your own self HATS OFF TO YOU. Lots of Love from Tamil Nadu, India.

I’ve heard so many people talk great about that cleanser but I don’t know why I don’t feel like it cleanses my skin. I think I’m just so used to foaming cleansers that it seems that way. But I’m going give it another try. Your skin is so pretty and you look very young

ANIME BARBIE it does nothing to remove makeup and sunscreen. Maybe as a second cleanse but definitely not for makeup removal .

Hi Jennifer.. thank you for introducing me to tretenoin. Great content and I love the way you explain everything. I just want to know if I could use a vitamin c serum on top of tretenoin? Love you loads ❤️
