Whats about the trícep
@w1ntertide2 ай бұрын
I feel soreness in my right forearm if I play catcher, hit up the cages often, and from playing long toss. I feel that this usually goes away but feeling it pretty good this week
@Fighters8-dp8fc2 ай бұрын
For anyone who knows, i get pain in the shoulder that shoots down the tricep to the elbow (not soreness, pain) whenever i go above about 60%-65% effort. I have no painin any other activities, and the doctor cleared any actual problem with the shoulder. It's been a reoccurring issue for about a month and a half now. I've heard that having an anterior tilted pelvis can cause muscle imbalances that can cause similar issues, but im not certain. Im 16 in high-school and literally anything would help.
@DanBlewett2 ай бұрын
you need to see a different doctor, one who specializes in pitchers. what youre describing is not normal and no, your pelvis is not causing that problem.

Hey Coach Dan, GREAT content! I am the father of a 12 yr old Little League who loves pitching. This is really helpful….a fantastic explanation of the issue and the perfect amount of detail and description. Have been watching your excellent videos for a while and have been meaning have to comment that you are an excellent instructor….you know how to simplify and explain sometimes complicated concepts in a way that is easy to understand and apply. Thank You!! Luis Uriarte Wilton, CT

What if the side of my shoulder on top of my triceps feel sore or bruised
@StrideX21 Жыл бұрын
I've been having issues and I'm pretty sure it's the rear delt muscle. Used to hurt on external rotation when I had my arm up. Now I just kind of feel it pinch like 1/10 pain. Started an arm car routine and got back into throwing and it's hurting less

@2:25 I beg to differ. I have two arms... JK XD Great info, being an assistant coach, our head coach always writes off hurt arms as being sore or the players getting out of practice. It may be true but sometimes it makes me wonder what they are going through or toughing out. Last thing I want them to do is blow out an arm. I blew out my arm throwing from outfield to home. I never wish that on anyone.
@DanBlewett2 жыл бұрын
ah good point I also have two arms! Yeah, its hard to know what players should be toughing out and what they should speak up about - it's a fine line, its very much a person to person issue. Most players definitely hide more pain than they speak up about, and a majority would rather play through it than sit. Best to be cautious and make the decision for them as a coach, and not ask them how they feel as a basis for putting them out there for more innings

My friend's son, who just pitched 7 2/3 innings of no-hit ball in the California JC playoffs, was experiencing forearm pain near the end of fall ball last year and the beginning of this season. Before he was consistently touching 90/91 but fell off to the mid 80's during the regular season. His velocity is up in the high 80's now. His coach had him pitch through it. So my question is this: What do the pros do with a pitcher experiencing forearm soreness? Rest? Damn informative video by the way!
@DanBlewett2 жыл бұрын
rest, or pitch through it and accept the consequences - often Tommy John. That kid sounds like he's on the cusp of blowing out his elbow.

Currently having all of those important symptoms in the biceps, elbow, in front of the shoulder. I don’t throw particularly hard I don’t even think I break 65, would that particular speed still warrant an injury such as a torn ligament over time?
@DanBlewett2 жыл бұрын
not worth guessing. See a doc or PT. If you don't throw that hard, sure - probably not a lot of reason to be worried, but guessing won't get you very far.

Hello Mr. Blewett! Thanks a lot for the content! I was just thinking about the soreness in my arm the last couple of days. Good to know that I don't have to worry about the posterior shoulder muscles... My forearm doesn't feel tight either. However, while I was doing barbell curls today I felt a light sting in my elbow... Is that due to poor throwing mechanics (I Always warm up properly) or could that just be the arm getting used to throwing again after years of not playing/throwing? Thanks a lot! Greetings from Germany ;)
@DanBlewett2 жыл бұрын
I really can't comment on specific pain / injury - it's not my place. But give it 24-48 hours to rest and see if it calms back down. Most soreness or little things will go away in that time. If they persist longer than a few days, then perhaps see a doctor and/or get some rest. Thanks for watching all the way from Germany!

in general, most things should be given 48 hours rest to see if it gets better, then go to the doctor, but take it on a case by case basis

I just started pitching and my elbow has been hurting. My coach and parents say that it's because I have a bad throwing form and it will go away as I fix my form. I've been improving my form and it still hurts. Should I see a doctor?
@DanBlewett2 жыл бұрын
its never normal to have pain, even if your mechanics are weird. Lots of pitchers have great mechanics and still get injured. I'm not sure they're giving you good advice. Always safe to get looked at, plus there are injuries (like growth plate inflammation) that has nothing to do with mechanics.

Hey Dan I found your channel about a week ago. My son is 5. Has played tball since he was 2. He’s at a regular league right now but the kids above him in coach pitch are really good. I don’t feel that he will progress into that good of a player because the current coaches there at the league teach him little to nothin. So should I move to select ball? Teach him myself? Or just keep him there and hope he gets better. Thank you
@DanBlewett2 жыл бұрын
5 is way too young. stick to the backyard. Organized at 7-8 at the earliest. Kids dont gain anything from starting organized ball earlier. They gain a lot learning to love it having fun playing in the backyard with the man they admire most - Dad.

I was wondering about the elbow. I just threw yesterday and dont feel any soreness or pain around the flexors and extensors or ucl where u mention. but where my bicep and forearm meet (when i flex my arm) i feel sore. Is that normal? Or could it be a mechanical flaw?

hey coach just a quick question, I watched your video on why some pitchers can't throw strikes, great advice but would you say some pitchers are just swing and miss pitchers (like it looks strikes but then goes ball but gets the swing and miss) or no?
