anna renee the mold of the girl splitting was disturbing. I didn’t have the sound up and for a Second it looked like a robot chicken character but the art is really good. She definitely has talent! But the sliced doll gave me something....

As a high school senior, I really feel like I'm far behind. I'm very proud of things I paint and draw, but I don't have any completed works that could go into a portfolio. Oops.

Nonono that’s usually fine, I literally had my portfolio checked today and they said that they liked not finished pieces, so they can see your progress. So is totally fine, I would recommend showing both finished pieces and unfinished pieces :)

Try again next year and the year after, don’t worry about wasting years it’s better to waste two years now doing what you love than wasting 5+ years in the future doing something you aren’t as passionate about only to realize this is. It how you want to waste your life and regretting everything and possibly even starting starting everything from scratch

Your Strong Women piece is spectacular and unbelievable! ✨You really captured movement in mid air so beautifully. But more importantly, I love the process images you shared to show your research, thinking and development that birthed the creation of that piece. Thanks for sharing Eva!! :)

Hi Eva! Congratulations on your acceptance to MIT (and others). I'm sorry your year was cut short by all this craziness. Hopefully, you were able to get home to your family for confinement. I am a teacher at a technical school in Oregon, and I'm working (online) with my students on their portfolio. I came across your KZbin video and really enjoyed your work. Is your portfolio digital? If so, could I get a link? We are working with our seniors, even though their year is over, to improve their portfolios, which they have started designing using WIX.

I'm slightly confused about stanford's art portfolio, it says that "NOTE: Mixed media portfolios are permitted but not recommended. The following types of work will not be evaluated: video games and apps .............architecture,..........:" Would artworks relating to architecture not be evaluated? If I want to apply for architecture how should I show my work/What sort of work should I do?

Hi, thank you for video which is very informative and a very great effort. I have a quick question please. My sis wish to submit her art portfolio but wish to put her best pieces in the start (which will mean the chronological sequence is missed). How strictly will Stanford look for this chronological sequence, as we also believe having the good ones in the start makes lot of sense. Appreciate your info. Regards Ram

Could you give a little more information on the requirements for the Yale portfolio? I am thinking of applying there with either illustration or painting depending on the courses they offer.

How does the university tell you what to include in your portfolio? Is it published as application requirements or how do you know what to submit?

Hey, I am currently a high school senior applying to a couple of colleges and I was wondering if you could give me some additional pointers for creating my art portfolio. I would also love to share some of my artwork with you to get your opinion on which pieces would be best to submit if you have time?

This bears no similarity in any way, shape, or form to my own process of applying to an Ivy League graduate school for fine arts. I don't even recall submitting a portfolio, however I had excellent references from undergrad art professors and a resume' listing many honors, awards, and even museum exhibitions. In any case, one of my main goals there was to demonstrate a level of draftsmanship ability that would likely surpass that of most or all of the professors at any art school, at least any that I ever met.

@BLMacab Жыл бұрын
they dont want dreamers they want doers....alot of creative people in the industry work very hard and 80% of artist get mad and say theyll never sell out but they just never did anything good or worthy of a resume, its real easy but the unpaid hours arent worth it for most, even those with talent, I have 2 cousins in hollywood and they are nonstop drawing or writing and always stressing over projects
