TBH I would invest in doing a floor pour for ur foundation. Just saying. Definitely makes a bigger difference depending on where you live, but it also gives you a ton more options for various things with it, like deciding to build an underground bunker 😉 I know it sounds crazy but it's the coolest thing to bust out to company when showing off a place like that. Mine was my man-cave originally until I built it and then decided to build an even bigger underground bunker under it. Then it became like a little chill/smoke game area with my PS4 and PSTV etc so my PS4 can connect to my PS5 and play via system connect etc. But when theu ask about "all these arcade games etc they have been hearing about" and you either pop a latch or in my case I hit a switch that pops up a hidden door. When they get underground via steps albeit slightly tight with head room going down, they see an enormous T.V connected to a custom built walk up 4 player cabinet setup where you can go and choose your games. I did purchase a set of the Terminator 2 gunner arcade games since they come with the guns and everything already setup to play. Then sleeping area off to the side (cause if ur gonna have a bunker it obviously needs to have a sleeping area and food storage just incase. Otherwise u will regret that shit should u need it) and food storage off in a seperate little space I carved out underground that is designed for air flow to keep things much cooler. I

I dig the workmanship…I just question where anyone of us who grew up in the 80’s and 90’s finds the time to actually play these silly games anymore. I, personally, am enjoying my ONE day off for the week and too exhausted to even pop Super Mario Bros into my NES and turn on the power. If I went with brick, it would have pushed it out of the realistic price territory. They also didn’t really give me the option for anything like that. I’m overly paranoid about it. We’ve never actually had a tornado here, maybe a microburst or two. If I’d had a much larger budget, I would have preferred a concrete foundation instead of it sitting on blocks. The building could have sat lower and the walls would have been anchored to the concrete.

It’s essentially a pier and beam construction. Similar to a mobile home. Tons of cinder blocks were placed underneath to hold up the frame and level it. Concrete would have been far too expensive and would have required lots of grading changes to the yard.

It’s not as tough as you’d think. A good dolly and a friend is usually enough. But recently, my wife and I moved the MK4 cabinet in ourselves with the dolly. I just took the monitor out and removed the control box. That took probably 100 pounds off and it was much easier to move. The racing cabinets typically separate into two pieces, the seat section detaches after removing some screws and you can move them easier. That said, the Rush the Rock cabinet is one big, heavy piece lol. The only way to remove the seat is to literally cut the it off. But that’s risky since wiring for the speakers in the seat run through it. So my friend, neighbor and I just moved it. We laid it on the stairs seat first, then lifted the main cabinet section up. It was much easier than I thought. The hardest one to get in the shed was Target Terror. That thing must weigh 500 pounds or is awkwardly weighted.

First time watching your videos and finding your channel. I'm not a arcade player but I can imagine how cool having a full blown gaming room for sega/nintendo yadda yadda, still cool though.

Looks about the way I'd build one. Killer Instinct being the most vital. If were to do one, I'd probably try to do Primal Rage, Motocross, MK2, TMNT and Cybersled with the obvious KI games.

You have a wonderful arcade shed! Fun fact, you should do a comprehensive video for insurance purposes that can be in future claims. Also, consider a permanent structure and a multi-cade. :D
@KillerArcadeGames

That is true, I need to do that for sure. I’d love a more permanent building but that will have to wait until I move. I am about to make a multicade out of a Killer Instinct 2 cabinet.

No weather issues inside yet. There was a pretty bad water leak when it was first built but I found they didn’t seal under the door frame. Rain was getting in under there so I sealed it.

Rent a tiller and till your yard 3-4 inches. Spread new grass. Rake the seed into the loose soil. Put down hay/straw. Spreading grass food also helps. Water the lawn 30 minutes in the AM and 30 minutes in the evening every day for 2 weeks unless it rains.

I go out there almost daily. I don’t always turn all the games on though. Nothing is better than going out there after a busy work day, turning on everything and play for a couple of hours! I also live stream the gameplay on most weekends.

I did a similar project. Built a 10X12 shed and turned it into a home office. I've had mine for about 6 years with no major issues. An unsolicited tip: for those rock patch you have on the left and right of the entrance if you want you can easily fill in those spots with holly bushes. Lowes sells little ones for about 20 bucks a plant. They grow fast, are hardy and keep their leaves in winter. After about two years you will need to start pruning them but they only really need to be cut twice a year, once if you don't mind them being a little shaggy. A slight downside is if you over prune the plants or animals start eating on them the leaves will become very sharp. But if you leave them alone they are a fine landscaping plant and need little to no maintenance. The roots can go down to about 17-25 inches, so best not to plant them over any wiring that is not encased in PVC pipe. Alternatively you could also use Juniper bushes. I have a couple of them too. They grow VERY slow and their needles can be sharp but I have not had to prune them in the 6 years I have had'em.

Yeah, Texas isn’t basement friendly haha. I had to rent a 1300 pound machine to dig the trenches for the internet and power. The ground is incredibly hard here. I wish we had a basement.

@@KillerArcadeGames Understood. But still, it is not that big. And if it was me, then mine would be a lot wider and longer. Cause, i would put tons of arcade machines in there, and not just arcade machines. Sadly, i can't afford any of the arcades. But also, even if i could afford them, i would not dare to put them in my house because of my cats. I mean, i don't want to wake up and find out a tons of cat poop on my arcade cabinet.

Sold our house a year ago and am looking to buy one in our budget that has a 2 car garage and a basement big enough to fit a couple of full size arcades. This is very inspiring to know that a seemingly decent person - (don't know you personally ;) - can dream and achieve some happiness.

Oh man, basements are a bonus! We don’t have them here in Texas. I’ve only seen a few and my job is pest control so I see tons of houses. My wife took me to Denver once, she lived there for a while and showed me someone’s basement. I was stunned by how huge it was. They’re great for arcades. My only fear would be flooding. Thanks for checking out the video.

I assume somebody has already pointed out that the reason that "waterproof" outlet leaked is because it is stuck on to the outside of the shed rather than recessed into the wall (like any other exterior outlet). Still an easy fix and something you should do sooner rather than later.
